In line with Philippine DRRM Act of 2010, otherwise known as RA 10121. entitled
Disaster risk reduction is aimed at preventing new and reducing existing disaster risk and
managing residual risk, all of which contribute to strengthening resilience and therefore to the
achievement of sustainable development.
The safety of schools is important, and School Disaster Risk Reduction and
Management (SDRRM) aims at reducing the vulnerability to, and impact of disasters on
schools. It prepares both teachers and students for potential disasters, thereby reducing the
impact of the said disaster.
Reducing disaster risks confronting the Managok Central School Teachers and
Personnel is paramount to the achievement of the Department of Education’s (DepEd)
outcomes, namely: access, quality, and governance. As such, the Department, as a member of
the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), has been
building the resilience of education by advancing school safety. In accordance with this
thrust, DepEd has created the Comprehensive DRRM in Basic Education Framework, which
underscores the following three pillars or areas of focus: 1) Safe Learning Facilities; 2)
School Disaster Management; 3) DRR in Education. The ongoing implementation of these
pillars is aligned with DepEd’s commitment to the four thematic areas of the Philippine
DRRM Act of 2010, otherwise known as RA 10121. These areas are Prevention and
Mitigation, Preparedness, Response, Recovery and Rehabilitation.
This will be a LAC Session intended for all teachers in the school to meet the
demand of current educational situation- the learning recovery after pandemic . This is
initiated to discuss with teachers the means of verification (MOV) of the different KRAs in
the IPCRF that conforms to the in-person learning that the school adopts. Moreover, how to
design effective instruction is also included to refresh teachers with the basic parts of
congruent lesson planning and to give them a handrail to hold on while performing their
COTs and daily teaching. This LAC session is facilitated by three Master Teachers of the
school.
