As I progressed through my education at the University of Arizona BSN-IH nursing program, I grew more
excited towards starting to work in my profession. My clinical experiences and preceptorship have
prepared me to function successfully in the clinical environment, and I am thrilled to be submitting an
application to begin my career at your hospital. I have been dreaming of this day for a long time. My
journey to becoming a nurse has helped me to acquire the knowledge, compassion, time management
skills, diligence, and ability to accept constructive feedback. My desire is to become a nurse who provides
excellent care, and who has a positive impact on patients and their family members. I am a lifelong
learner and as such, I eagerly anticipate gaining new experiences and knowledge throughout the course
of my career.
My prior work experience has aided me in helping to develop necessary skills such as communication,
critical thinking, and multitasking while working in a fast-paced environment. These skills will help
throughout my future nursing career. My recent preceptorship in the emergency department is what
helped push me towards furthering my transition the most as I got to care for patients independently while
being supervised. During my preceptorship, I gained experience in inserting IVs, foleys, OG tubes,
performing chest compressions, charting, and more. By my tenth shift I had gained confidence in my
clinical skills which strengthened my passion for my chosen profession. My preceptorship was an
experience I will forever be grateful for, and I am excited for the next journey in my career.
I am excited about preparing to begin my career as a Registered Nurse in the OR, and I look forward to
an invitation to join your team. I am passionate about nursing, and I welcome the opportunity to grow with
your team. Thank you for considering me for this position. I am available through any of the contact
information listed at the top of the page.
Sincerely,
Lysette Cabral
