Description

Some operators reported delays due to brakes replacement found worn to limit
during turnaround

Consequence

Brakes must be removed when one of the two wear pins is found flush with the
brake piston housing

Mitigation / Interim Plan

Delays can be avoided if operators anticipate brakes removal.

An evaluation of the remaining number of landings can then be made:

1 mm represents around 30 landings

Note: This value of 30 landings / mm should obviously be adapted depending on

operators operations and actual brake wear rate.

Maintenance Information

MPD task 324227-01-1 requires the wear pin length check every 36 hours.

Permanent Solution

It is recommend to plan ahead the brake removal once the wear pin measures
1mm (or less) as this latter may become flush (outstation included) in the next
couple of days.
