Your kind attention is invited to the above ref. 1st cited, it is to

submit that, the Hon’ble MLA, Tanuku Constituency has submitted a
representation by stating that, at main road of Tanuku Municipality
i.e., Rashtrapathi Road (RP Road), opp. Court complex, the statues of
Sri Mahatma Gandhi & Sri Potti Sriramulu had been established
nearly 60 years ago and currently they are under dilapidated
condition & requested for replacement of above said statues as per the
public desirement.

 I further submit that, in the ref. 2 nd cited, a letter has been
addressed by the Commissioner, Tanuku Municipality to the Collector
& District Magistrate, West Godavari, Eluru, for kind consideration
and requested to accord permission in this regard duly stating the
certain recommendations. Thereafter, in reply to the above, a detailed
report has been called from the Special Officer of Tanuku Municipality
& Revenue Divisional Officer, Eluru & instructed to submit the
enquiry report along with specific remarks vide ref. 3rd cited.

In this connection, in the ref. 4th & 6th cited, a letter has been
addressed to the Station House Officer (SHO), Traffic Wing, Tanuku
PS, seeking for feasibility report at the earliest in view of traffic while
taking up of replacement of above mentioned statues i.e., Sri
Mahatma Gandhi & Sri Potti Sriramulu. Further, the SHO has
delivered a letter duly stating that, while taking up of replacement for
above said statues, there is neither objection nor obstruction in view
of traffic in this regard.

While this matter stood thus, in the ref. 5 th cited, the President,
Sri Arya Vaisya Seva Sangham has submitted a written representation
to the Commissioner, Tanuku Municipality on 20-02-2021 & stated
that, at Rashtrapathi Road, opp. Court complex of Tanuku
Municipality, the statues of Sri Mahatma Gandhi & Sri Potti
Sriramulu had been established nearly 60 years ago and they are
under dilapidated condition presently & requested for replacement of
above said statues for inspiration to the future generations.

Accordingly, after careful examination of submitted

representation made by the Hon’ble MLA, Tanuku Constituency,
inspected the said location along with concerned officials of Tanuku
Municipality, it is noticed that, said RP Road, where the statues of Sri
Mahatma Gandhi & Sri Potti Sriramulu established, is belongs to R &
B Dept., as per the Survey records i.e., FMB and RSR of R.S.No. 61 of
Tanuku and the above stated Sri Mahatma Gandhi & Sri Potti
Sriramulu statues are seems to be under damaged condition and the
replacement of above mentioned statues with similar shape and size
along with pedestal may be taken up. As per the G.O.Ms.No. 18 issued
by Transport, Roads & Buildings (Roads -1) Dept., on18-02-2013,
certain instructions had been issued that no new statues should be
permitted for erection on any R & B roads. I respectfully submit that,
no question would arise in this regard as the request made for
replacement only. For above said statues, there is no objection as well
as no obstruction in view of traffic as per the report obtained by
Traffic PS concerned.

In view of the above circumstances, I request the Collector &

District Magistrate, West Godavari, Eluru, kindly consider the above
furnished matter & do needful to accord permission for replacement of

Sri Mahatma Gandhi & Sri Potti Sriramulu statues, which were
located at RP Road, opp. Court Complex under Tanuku municipal
jurisdiction, with similar shape and size along with pedestal as per the
existing statues.
