David Ulrich Business Model

Ulrich David model of HR was introduced in 1995 to organize the Human Resource
functions. Further David Ulrich designed the model to streamline the working ways in order to
ensure that team members feel precise in their responsibilities and roles and are accountable. The
model looks at four key sectors which include; strategic partner, administrative expert, employee
champion and change agent.
Strategic partner aids in the development, management and growth of the employees by
looking at the customers to see what they can improve on in the business operations. Moreover, a
strategic manager looks the customers preferences and views on what needs to be improved to
make an organizations services look better. The strategic manager listens to the concerns of
customers on the service or goods delivery which bring about the success or the failure of the
organization.
An administrative expert manages the people, costs and the overall delivery of an
organizations day to day operations in the usual output. The administrative expert ensures that all
the costs of products and other organizations utilities are well accounted for and recorded. If its
about the services delivery of an organization, an administrative manager ensures that they are
well delivered at the set time. Also an administrative expert moves around the organization to
ensure that all customers are well served, and the employees are on their working stations and
are doing a good job.
Change agent looks at an organizations culture in the ways all the activities are run in the
premises from morning till evening and comes up with ways of bettering the professional and
personal departments. Change agent looks on the various ways to make the operations of an
organization better by studying how all activities are done, listening to employees preferences
and looking at better ways of making the organization suitable for all persons to perform their
daily activities. Further the change agents connect with the line managers in the process of
facilitating and leading to change which make the organization a good and better place for all
persons. Change managers bring into concern the factors that they see need to be improved and
take them to the field managers in the process of bringing changes.
Employee champion ensures that employees concerns issues are well raised to the proper
channel that inhibits their answers. Also employee champion ensures that the employees are well
respected at work premises to be protected from any violation whatsoever that may be brought
upon them by the managers and other staff. Employees champion ensure that the rights of all
employees are respected including the off days, payments are done at the speculated time and
that they are treated as descent human beings. Notably another role for employee champions is to
ensure that the company’s people are healthier and happier and that the relations between the
employee and employer are healthy.
David Ulrich business model ensures that; a unified, high functioning team structure is
created, all roles are well defined in each and every department, the company performs to the
latter best and that measures the performance of the organization to enable the company do much
better with time. By creating a unified high functioning team structure in the organization, the
employees are able to work together in the promotion of the organizations goals. Unity in the
organization enables the employees report any of the challenges easily affecting them and the
management aids in the help of employees in all their challenges. Also this model defines each
and every role in all departments of an organization to bring about the efficiency of all
departments and their employees. When the roles of employees in a set department are properly
outlined and defined, each employee in their respective departments understand what they are
supposed to work on in the organization leading towards the success of the organization. Also
when roles are defined, specialization and division of labor for the employees is enhanced. In
addition this model ensures that the company operates top its best and operates to its best. Also
the model helps in the measurement of an organizations performance for an organization to be
performing more better with time.
