About the College
Asansol Engineering College, a self-financing institute
was established in 1998 under the society of The
Academy of Engineers (India). The College is approved
by AICTE, New Delhi and Dept. of Higher Education,
Govt. of West Bengal and affiliated to Maulana Abul
Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT),
West. The college is a joint venture between the JIS
Group and the Techno India Group. It is situated at
Asansol, Paschim Bardhaman, West Bengal which is
one of the largest Industrial belt of Eastern India. AEC
offersvarious B. Tech programmes& M. Tech
programmes along with BCA, BBA, and MCA in
various disciplines. The institute was a participant
inTechnical Education Quality Improvement Program
(TEQIP), an initiative of the Government of India. The
institute has state of art laboratories, individual
computing facility for all faculty members. All
departments are active in research and various funded
projects.
About The Department
The journey of Mechanical Engineering Department of
Asansol Engineering College started in the year 2003.
The department is engaged in the advancement of
learning and dissemination of technical knowledge and
to provide continuous industrial interaction to the
students. With the changing market scenario, emphasis
has been laid down for academia- industryinterface for
better knowledge enhancement&build expertise in
specialized technological areas. Pass-out students of the
department have been successfully placed in various
renowned industries like Komatsu Mining Corp., Asahi
India Glass, Supreme & Co., H&R Johnson, TVS Motor
Company Ltd, BOC, TCS, TIL, ALSTOM, L&T,
JSWL, Jessop etc. Beside Industry placements, students
are also pursuing higher studies at IITs, NITs,
universities abroad etc. The department has organized
Vocational Training for rural and urban sectors. The
department has credit to organize several seminars,
workshop in collaboration with KGEC, participate in
prestigious international competition likeone, organized
by NASA, USA, in April, 2013 where ME,
AEC student secured 16th position across the World. The
Mechanical Engineering Department is accredited by NBA in the
year 2022.
About the Conference
Industry 4.0 refers to the “smart” and connected production
systems that are designed to sense, predict, and interact with the
physical world, so as to make decisions that support production in
real-time. In manufacturing, it can increase productivity, energy
efficiency, and sustainability. It helps to manage and optimize all
aspects of manufacturing processes and supply chain. It gives
technological facility to assist humans in decision-makingand
problem solving and the ability to help humans with difficult
tasks.
The conference aims to expand your knowledge in the field of
Mechanical Engineering towards Industry 4.0. Receiving
exposure and develop an interest in research and connecting with
other researchers, scholars in the same field. The main objective
of the conference is to expose and attract young researchers to
this growing area.
