BITUSOL BLACK BITUMEN PAINT BITUSOL is a cold applied solvent based Black Bitumen Paint, used for waterproofing, corrosion protection, damp proof courses and general barrier needs of the construction industry. It is recommended for use as a primer coat, before installation of bitumen membrane. USES BITUSOL provides an excellent water- proof coating and vapour barrier for concrete and block foundation below ground level to protect against corrosive salts present in the soil. It is also used in protection of metals to prevent corrosion. Ensure surface is clean, sound, dry and stable. Free from oil, grease, curing compound and loosely adher- ing dust, rust etc. These can be removed by stiff wire brush. APPLICATION Generally two coats are recommended for better protection. Allow first coat to dry before applying second coat. BITUSOL can be applied by brush, roller or spray equipment. Drying time between coats can vary depending upon the climatic condition of the site. Take an average time of 2 to 3 hours between coats. COVERAGE 3-7 m’/litre/coat. Please note coverage figures are for guidance and will vary depending on operational parameters such as poros- ity, smoothness of the substrate, etc. STORAGE/SHELF LIFE BITUSOL is based on flammable solvents. Store in a well-ventilated shed and from direct sunlight. The shelf life of the product is at least 12 months from the date of its manufacturing provided it is kept in original unopened drums and stored under normal warehouse conditions.
