VIRGINIA O. TRANGIA II PROF. ELANOR O.

BAYTEN
DTVE – BATCH 3 ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATION IN VALUES EDUCATION

REFLECTION ON THE ACTIVITY

SURVEY RESULT
Remembering back on the day Prof. Bayten instructed us to do a collaborative survey on the
assessment tools that are being used by my fellow colleagues, my co-teacher Ma'am Susan
Macapia-Hitosis, and I decided to divide the grade levels from Grades 7–10 at that time. In contrast
to Ma’am Susan Macapia-Hitosis, who chose Grades 9 & 10, I chose Grades 7&8 to survey. I spoke
with the grade 7 key teacher that day when I was conducting the survey, and I asked Ma'am Crossly
about the assessment methods they always utilized. These are the findings from a survey that was
done regarding the most frequently utilized written works, such as essays, quizzes, summative tests,
and performance tasks including posters, slogans, role plays, recitations, situation analyses, and
portfolios. While I am the representative for Grade 8, our usual assessment methods include the
following written tasks, summative tests, quizzes, letters to parents, and performance tasks such as
speeches, posters, friendship cards, and slogans. After collecting all the surveys, I found that some
grade levels had assessment tools that they consistently used, whereas other grade levels did not.
With the help of these results, I came to the realization that you can use assessment tools that you
are able to use as well as other tools, provided you always consider if they are appropriate for the
assessment's intended aim.
