PROCEDURE:

1. Introduction (5 minutes):

- Begin the lesson by asking students if they know what possession means.

- Explain that when we talk about something belonging to someone, we use the possessive
form ('s) in English.

- Give examples of possessive sentences, such as " This is Mum’s pen " or " It’s my
brother’s book."

2. Explanation (10 minutes):

- Write a simple sentence on the board, such as "The girl has a dog."

- Explain that to show possession, we add 's after the noun.

- Rewrite the sentence as "The girl's dog" and explain that now it shows that the dog
belongs to the girl.

- Emphasize that 's is added even if the noun already ends with an s, like "James's car."
3. Application (15 minutes):

- Hand out a worksheet with exercises where students need to rewrite sentences using
the possessive form.

- Monitor and assist students as they work on the exercises.

- Review the answers together as a class, providing explanations for any errors.

4. Production (10 minutes):

- Ask each student to think of one possession they have and write a sentence about it
using the possessive form.

- Have volunteers share their sentences with the class, encouraging correct pronunciation
and grammar.

5. Wrap-up (5 minutes):

- Summarize the lesson by reviewing key points about using 's to show possession.

- Answer any remaining questions from students.

- Assign homework if desired, such as writing three more sentences using the possessive
form.
