Gender inequalities remain an important issue in today’s society.

It has emerged in the last century

and continues to be discussed today for necessary improvements. It can be defined as unequal
treatment or perception based on gender, leading to discrimination, prejudice, and limited
opportunities in the working field.

The USA has acted in favor of the problem. For instance, in the 1960s, the Civil Right Act was put in
place, prohibiting employment discrimination based on race, or sex. In addition, during the 1970s,
Title IX was passed which forbade discrimination in education programs and activities. Finally, the
Violence Against Women Act in the 1990s aimed to reduce and prevent domestic violence and
stalking.

Today, in democratic countries, women are considered equal to men. Women have made significant
strides in the workforce, breaking through the glass ceiling and achieving positions of power and
influence. However, women continue to face barriers to accessing certain jobs and earning equal pay
compared to men. They can be badly seen in certain fields, where most workers are masculine.

As far as I am concerned, I believe that we have to continue to advocate for women’s rights at all
levels. Improving their feeling of security in the streets as well as promoting their presence in politics.
This can be done by improving education and raising awareness in schools or even by enforcing laws
for equality. We can also work to dismantle harmful social norms and stereotypes that perpetuate
gender inequality. Following this, women could reach this general equality in new few decades.
