01 Internet Pornography - The New Pandemic
What is PORNOGRAPHY?
According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church (n. 2354), pornography
consists in removing real or simulated sexual acts from the intimacy of the
partners, in order to display them deliberately to third parties. It offends
against chastity because it perverts the conjugal act, the intimate giving of
spouses to each other.
Pamela Paul said there is an increase in using of pornography, especially
when the pandemic hits the world. She added that the number of people
looking at pornography now is staggering. Men look more at pornography
online than any other subject, and 66% of 18-34-year-old men visit a
pornographic site every month. The Internet has dramatically increased the
availability of pornography. Data from the 2008 Internet Pornography
Statistics informs us that every second, $3,075.64 is being spent on internet
pornography, 28,258 internet users are viewing pornography online, and 372
internet users are typing adult search terms into search engines every second
of every day.
