1.0 INTRODUCTION
This report presents the results of the Mackintosh Probe Test for “ PE BAYU
PERDANA NO 2”.

2.0 SCOPE OF WORKS

The purpose of works for this site mackintosh probe was conducted to investigate
the subsurface condition and to determine their engineering properties in design
works and to identify any problems which may be encountered at the time or
construction.

a) Carry out TWO (02) numbers of mackintosh probing test at the site to
indicate the parameters of the soil strata

3.0 MACKINTOSH PROBING TEST

Probing was carried out using standard Mackintosh probing equipments which
consists of hardened steel penetration cone of 27mm diameter and is fitted onto
the lower end of the first penetration rod. The rod is 1.00m in length and 12.50mm
in diameter and connected together by means of barrel couplings.

The resistance to penetration is measured by a 4.5kg hammer weight which is

dropped freely from height of 280mm along a guided rod. Resistance is recorded
as number of blows to cause a 300mm penetration. Probing is terminated when
resistance is 400 blow per 0.30m or at a maximum penetration of 15m or whichever
is achieved first.
