Job Description – Infrastructure Research & Strategy

Manager

Team
Within KPMG, KPMG Global Services (KGS) Infrastructure team is a global Centre of Excellence for KPMG
practices delivering services across the stages of Infrastructure lifecycle.

We are a sector specialized multi-disciplinary team with experience of working across Infrastructure
sectors and themes such as urban planning, future of mobility, sustainability, asset management &
resilience and Digital Infrastructure.

KGS Infrastructure team provides services in the areas of Strategy, Economic and Policy research, Project
Procurement and Commercial Advisory, Capital projects and Asset Management and Mega Projects. The
team is on a high-growth trajectory, currently consisting of 50 professionals. We are recruiting for
Manager role in the Infrastructure team having an experience in research and strategy for Infrastructure
projects.

Roles and Responsibilities


As Manager in our team you will be responsible, amongst other things for:

Delivering Client Engagements:

 Leading and delivering commercial and market reviews, strategic studies, and business plan
reviews for infrastructure projects/clients
 Driving the design of commercial and financial analysis e.g. market analysis, business model
analysis, competitive benchmarking, etc.
 Being actively involved in structuring the client outputs and its delivery
 Securing additional work for the current engagement or for related opportunities

Stakeholder management:

 Actively building and managing the relationships and interface with Global KPMG Infrastructure
teams and other deal advisory professionals
 Supporting KPMG onshore teams on initiatives including preparation of proposals and
expressions of interest

Practice Development:

 Directing, managing, and mentoring junior team members on engagements


 Train and mentor junior staff and contribute to the overall skills enhancement and experience of
the team
 Recruiting, managing, and contributing to the development of junior staff
 Ensuring KPMG's quality and risk management procedures are completed to the appropriate
standard
 Pro-actively keeping up to date in your field of profession on a global level
 Contributing to point of views, thought leadership and knowledge management to support
practice development

Qualifications and Experience


 MBA / PGDBM from a leading Indian/International educational institution
 Relevant experience (8+ years) gained in either Strategy consulting firms, Corporate roles, or
similar deal experience in the relevant sector/ propositions (as applicable)

Ideal candidate would:


 Have ability to deal with ambiguity and to put in place frameworks and structure
 Goal driven – should be focused on helping clients meet their requirements – by developing
answers and solutions when client requirement remains unclear / changes, and by providing
relevant insights and key questions to fit the client objective
 Credible record of operating at a team management level
 Have Mentored, Coached, Appraised Junior team members
 Have experience of or exposure of working on one or more infrastructure sector/sub sectors like
Transport, smart cities/urban infrastructure and social infrastructure.
 Understand Financial analysis and interpretation
 Have commercial awareness
 Have strong analytical skills and strong written, communication and presentation skills
 Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
 Have creativity in pictorial representation of data, preparing decks for client presentations
 Having familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI/Qliksense/Tableau would be an
advantage
