e-Mobility as a Career
The EV industry is now at the start of a historic
growth curve that will create 60 million
high-paying jobs.

As per data from the International Energy

Agency (IEA), the global spend on EV
purchases was an estimated

$250 billion $2.3 trillion

in 2021 by 2030

By 2030, the IEA estimates that electric cars

will account for 60% of new car sales, with
300 million already on the road. This is a
once in a lifetime opportunity for this
generation of engineers to redesign and
reinvent the future of transportation.
03

The Opportunity - EV Jobs

e-Mobility is a very attractive career for the rest of this decade. The increment in pay ranges from
45-50% for those who switch from ICE to electric vehicles, and the pay scales are only going to
keep going up as the hunt for skilled and experienced EV professionals intensifies. At this time,
the balance of supply and demand is heavily tilted in favour of job-seekers due to shortage of
skilled and experienced engineers. This urgency makes it a good time to switch to EV careers
easily and land high-paying jobs.

The Way Forward:

M.Tech in EV Technology
With millions of available EV jobs and an industry that
is desperate for skilled talent, the question that EV
manufacturers and suppliers are asking is whether to
help upskill their existing talent or hire new people
who have already upskilled into EV? The way forward
for engineers is this MTech in EV Technology.
05

Choose your
Learning Track
VNIT allows flexible learning. Choose the learning track as per
your convenience, earn credits. Use the credits later to earn your
MTech degree from VNIT.

For example, let’s say Anand chooses to enroll for the 6-month Advanced Certificate,
completes it and earns 13 credits. He then takes a break from learning. Next year, he wants to
do the PG Certificate, for which he only has to do the second Semester and earn another 13
credits.

With one year of learning and 26 credits, Anand is now eligible for company sponsorship. He
gets selected by an EV manufacturer, and is working there. At this point, he may choose to
continue learning and complete the MTech while working, or take another break and focus on
work experience. At a later point, he can enroll again at VNIT, apply the 26 credits earned and
complete the remaining one year of the MTech curriculum.
