Reflection

On the 1st day of the internship without any orientation or induction, the Talent Acquisition
team’s employees ask the trainee to do filing, the trainee were not aware of anything and gets
traumatized, after that the trainee took initiatives and asked for separate induction classes
specifically for trainees from L&D team, met with the CHRO Mr Rathish and got permission
for Case Studies and Mini Project. The trainee worked in the Talent acquisition team and
learned many things related the Organisation Behaviour and how theory is completely
different from practical work culture. The trainee also understood the role of a leader in work
place, if the leader is not good in handling and delegating the KRA (Key Responsible Area)
to their team members, lots of conflicts may arise. I could clearly see employees fighting
among themselves and blaming each other for the mistakes the team makes because of
improper communication. The trainee felt that lack of empowerment leads to conflict that
arises when decisions are not communicated properly to the employees by the manager.
Apollo follows old method for onboarding process and for those clerical works like
documentation, filing, ID printing, Updating the employee details in the Oracle HCM, they
hire interns.

4
Earlier the interns used to work only in one team of HR department that too clerical job and
go out with minimum knowledge but the trainee along with her co trainee gets permission to
visit the Hospitals, attend the induction Program, gave suggestions to minimise errors. It was
one good experience of learning what not to do in workplace and how not to treat the interns.
Sometimes they asked the interns to clean and arrange their waste IRF’s and also their usage
of words was not nice. Sometimes it hurts but the trainees raised our voices strongly against
all these unethical practices and even went to the CHRO to raise a complaint about the same.
The trainee gets to know about different departments in the hospitals and their work culture.
The trainee did her case study on Recruitment policy, Induction program, Corporate Social
Responsibility, Performance Appraisal and did her mini project on the relationship between
employee empowerment and its effect on job satisfaction. My communication and
networking skills got improved and gained confidence by gaining professional Knowledge.
When New Interns came, the trainee did a proper orientation by teaching them both technical
as well as about the department. It’s a big thing in that organisation, this was the 1st proper
induction done for the interns. The trainee has done documentation and send many people
for their pre medical health check-up, met with lot of people and improved my
communication, the trainee could feel the difference that now the trainee feels more confident
to speak with people.
