SME:

I am writing you as one of our top clients is in need of a Subject Matter Expert to work on their
account.
The language combination is English>Vietnamese

We need your help to identify a SME with strong experience in the medical domain (ideally in
oncology and clinical trials) requested to help with the User Guides and Interfaces on the client´s
platform. We need to submit the CVs of the potential candidates as soon as possible (possibly by
the end of this week) – could you please let me know whether you have such specialists in your
pool? If so, I would appreciate if you could provide me with their detailed CVs and hourly rates
for this kind of task. If appropriate, they will be submitted to our client for approval.

Client´s deadline for the approximate hourly rates: 8th May – morning
Client´s deadline for the CVs: Friday 10th May or Monday 13th May at the very latest

The requirements that should be met by the candidates are the following:
Qualifications
•    Native Speaker of the target language ideally living in the target country (this is the client´s
requirement but please let us know if you have specialists in other countries and we might be
able to consider them)
•    Excellent understanding of English
•    SME review is understood as follows:
o    Review and adaptation to the country-specific situation by a native professional with a high-
level education and/or a minimum of 5 years of working experience in the medical domain
(graduate medical students, doctoral candidates, post-doc and practitioners)
o    The role of the SME is NOT a linguistic review (linguistic review is part of the translation),
but a review and adaptation to the country-specific situation, carried out by a professional in
Oncology to ensure that the materials are suitable for release to the local market. The target
audience will be oncologists using the program on the daily basis.
Responsibilities
•    Review translated content in bilingual format to ensure correct use of terminology for
Oncology
•    Follow provided project instructions, including terminology lists, do-not-translate lists and
ensure adherence to those
•    Perform TVT (Translation Verification Testing) within the client´s environment, after having
reviewed in bilingual format and work through various cases.
Pre-requisites
•    Complete the Amplexor and Client Onboarding Training (Client´s specific training)
•    Able to commit to 10-20 hours per week during the project cycle and with at least one-month
prior notice
•    Confident in working on TVT (Translation Verification Testing) after having received the
appropriate documentation and training (live session with Amplexor primary client´s tester)
•    Accept working on the client-configured hardware provided by Amplexor (a laptop)
•    The SME must always sign:
o    Documentation sign-off of the Welcome Package
o    Certificate of Accuracy upon every SME review.
It will not be valid if the certificates have been signed by the agency PMs.

•    In case of agencies: agree to share the SME´s data (name, surname, email address, telephone
number and address) with Amplexor. They are needed, among other things, to create the selected
candidate credentials to the client-specific system – generic/agencies email addresses are not
valid, as they do not meet the client´s security standards. It is also the SME who will have to sign
the Welcome Package with their full name and surname in order to start our collaboration on this
account. Amplexor has all the necessary organizational and technical measures to ensure the
strict confidentiality of the transferred data to the client; we ensure that our client complies with
the General Data Protection Regulation and as a consequence, there is no risk related to such
transfer of name (personal data) to our client.

Additional information:

-    Wordcount: more than 100K

-    Establishing a future cooperation: this is a long term collaboration
-    The SME must have studies/experience directly related to Oncology (not valid if he/she
works in other field and has just some relation with oncological patients)
-    For this target language the SME will have translate and approve a glossary and DNTs
because it´s a new language for the client
