PROJECT PRESENTACION
THE COMPANY
Family business with a strong young and entrepreneurial nature, with strong roots in agriculture
and viticulture, dedicated to providing unique experiences through its services and/or products,
and today strongly dedicated to the wine and wine tourism product. We want each person who
uses each bottle produced to feel the authenticity, genuineness and dedication we have from
planting the vine to bottling the precious nectar, we are dedicated to producing unique and
different wines. With the concept and slogan “a new world designed to provide new
experiences” and a Biochic concept that maintains and cultivates a responsible attitude that
unites sustainability and environmental balance, with the elegant simplicity that so well
characterizes the North of Portugal.
HISTORY | PROJECT
It all started with a stunning view over the banks of the Douro River in the demarcated
region of Vinho Verde (sub. Baião region), and there arose a desire by partners Sandra
Fonseca and Miguel Silvestre to enter the adventure of wine tourism and the wine
world.
When they arrived at the top of the place of Corujeiras in the old parish of Santa Cruz
do Douro, now called the union of parishes of Santa Cruz do Douro and São Tomé de
Covelas, they felt that that place and the landscape they saw “filled their souls” and from
there the name Feel & Soul Douro, was the “perfect” place to build this new project. In
2015, for “joke” they started a small plantation of 2 ha of vines in 2015 in Jacinto Path
as described in the book “The Cities and the Mountains” by the writer Eça de Queiroz,
who is passionate about the landscape and people of Baião.
Lovers of contact with Nature, of traveling, getting to know and experiencing new
cultures, lovers of good wine (with countless friends in this area), so why not take this
knowledge and experience to anyone who wants to know this Portuguese corner.
Acquiring the old Quinta das Corujeiras (since 1844) now called Quinta do Castanheiro
they started a new project, since the place had been abandoned for over 30 years.
After modulating the land into levels, the planting of approximately 15ha of vineyards
began in early 2017, and was completed in late March 2017, currently having an
approximate total vineyard area of 20 ha.
With a unique terroir, based on essentially granitic terrain, in the transition zone
between the green Douro and the Douro valley wine region, being in a range of altitudes
from 550 to 650m, providing the freshness increasingly appreciated in wines, especially
in whites.
Several grape varieties, from native to international, were planted in order to produce
wines with unique characteristics.
In 2021 the construction of the winery (Feel & Soul, Winery; Moments to enjoy) began,
which will have a tasting room, a shop, and a dazzling view over the Douro river valley,
in addition to a wine bar (Feel & Soul, Wine Bar: Moments to enjoy) with a panoramic
terrace located in the middle of the vineyard, complementing the company's wine
tourism.
The vineyards are all in the process of converting to biological, and in which a herd of
sheep grazes, which help in controlling the grass, fertilize and contribute to the
reduction of the carbon footprint promoting an increasingly sustainable agriculture.
Because we are talking about a project based on the words “sustainability and unique
experiences for the user”.
CERTIFICATIONS
1. Sustainability
Feel & Soul, Douro Wine Tourism, is in the final process of Biosphere Certification*. This
certificate is awarded to companies that ensure an adequate, long-term balance
between economic, socio-cultural and environmental aspects.
All the grapes used in the production of our wines, one of which is exclusively our own
production, come from the organic production method.
