1. GENERAL

1.1.1 PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE

To create an effective management system that will ensure Safety and Health at Sea,
prevention of human injury or loss of Life, and avoidance of damage to the Environment,
in particular, to marine environment and to property in all Company activities.

1.1.2 SCOPE

Developing and maintaining safety management system to implement policy through


Company procedures / instructions and environmental excellence in all shipboard
activities. These procedures and instructions apply to all vessels as defined by the ISM
code.

1.1.3 LEGAL AND REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS

The following amplifies the Company's policy with respect to mandatory regulations and
laws:

1. All ships will be operated according to the following rules, regulations and
amendments as applicable and in force:
a. International Convention on Load Lines
b. International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea
c. MARPOL
d. Maritime Labor Convention (MLC)
e. International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea
f. International Convention on Tonnage Measurement on Ships
g. Code of Federal Regulations, Title 33
h. IMO Resolution pertaining to Principles of Safe Manning
i. STCW Conventions STCW
j. ILO Conventions
k. IMDG Code
l. MEPC ‐ Marine Environment Protection Committee
m. EmS ‐ Emergency procedures for Ships carrying Dangerous Goods
n. OPRC Convention
o. International Convention on `Oil Pollution Preparedness, Response and Co‐
operation & SOPEP
p. ICS and Regional requirements and regulations
2. The applicable rules, regulations, guidelines and standards of the IMO, flag state of the
vessel, Classification societies and maritime industry organizations
