NEWS | DWCSJ The JHS Prom

The Junior High School Department of Divine Word College of San Jose hosted the JHS prom at Mcsherry
Gymnasium on March 24, 2023 from 6:00 to 10:00pm, to taught young mean and women how to act
traditionally punctual, and wear a more extravagant clothing choice than usual. Exclusive to Grade 10
students, themed: “Wanderlust: An Escape to Evermore”.

The event started at 6:00pm with the participants having a stary walk with their partners followed by
singing the Nation Anthem and an welcoming remark from our school Basic Ed. Principal Dr. Jayson
Valera and inspirational talk from Fr. Renato A. Tampol SVD.

Students had a pictorial with their classmates and candle ceremony then followed by an intermission
number from Mr. Acelbert Paulino and Ms. Joselle Cunanan. Every section prepared a dance
performance, St. Dominic performed an amazing “Swing dance”, St. Benedict danced “Cha Cha” and St.
Arnold played a balloon dance called “Cotillion”.The judges, Mr. Johnzell Capacai, Mrs. Gemma Santiago
and Jam Dela Cruz, were presented after the performance of the students of Grade 10. Then the
presentation of candidates from every section, and later followed by intermission from Mr. Kairo Vasco
and Ms. Sofia Fuentes. Students enjoyed their night, dancing and singing with their co-students, friends,
and teachers.

The emcees Sheina Bharwani, Princess Aleyah Palomo, Vaughn Xavier Reguyal, and Zac Kyler Virtucio,
announced the awardees for each title. Ms. Jullienne Mari Dela Rosa and Mr. Fort Ludwig Baltazar was
title as the Prom Queen & King, Ms. Franchesca Tracey Dinglasan and Mr. Earl Justin Marc Sanchez for
Prom Princess & Prom Prince, Ms. Christine Mae Aljas as the Dame of the Prom, Mr. kennet Justine
Alvarado for Knight of the Prom, the Face of the Prom was given to Ms. Anya Mira Candava And Mr.
Ernts Jude Pagayonan, the title Ramp Queen and King is given to Ms. Princess Virginia Mercado and Mr
Kiaro Zenjie Vasco, the Best in Cocktail is Ms. Jesna Lee Valdez, the Best in Formal Attire is Mr. Nike
Derrick Santos and last the Best Smile award is given to Ms.vEricka Julia Cajucom and Mr. Lance Reinier
Peregrino.

Our Academic Coordinator Mrs. Ephegenia Pagayonan, gave the word of thanks, followed by a closing
prayer by Ms. Keisha Jernadette Ann Perez and an after party performance from Domni Band. A
memorable night for all the Grade 10 student who have attend the prom.
