Reflection on the Analysis of Assessment in

Values Education Curriculum Using
K-W-L Chart

According to DepEd Memo No. 41 S. The 2003 "Values

Education in the Basic Education Curriculum" recommended
that values education teachers be fully employed to help the
other subject area teachers incorporate values
development in the subject areas they teach. One of the
focuses of the reorganized Basic Education Curriculum is
values education. Values integration is a way to develop
values through the teaching-learning processes used in the
many learning domains. The nature of the learning domains
and their distinctive contribution as bodies of knowledge
serve as the foundation for values integration.
The purpose of assessments in the curriculum,
particularly in Values Education, is to determine if students
possess the knowledge and skills necessary for performing a
specific task or activity. Through assessment, students are
able to determine their areas of strength and weakness. This
allows them to judge how well they are doing in class and
whether or not they understand the subject being taught by
the teacher.
Assessment is essential to the design of the curriculum
because it enables teachers to track students' learning
progress and determine whether they correctly comprehend
the lessons, activities, and tasks. Learning can be assessed
through methods of assessment like exams, quizzes,
performance tasks, and written works. In order to accomplish
the desired learning outcome, it should be aligned with the
curriculum's learning competencies. To provide a
meaningful evaluation, make it simpler for educators to
evaluate student achievement, and, if required, modify their
teaching methods, they must specify clear objectives.
We may utilize this KWL chart to make sure that goal is
being met. Personally, I find using this testing method to be
enjoyable. It helps to evaluation of what you already know,
what you want to learn, and what you have eventually
learned about a subject. This evaluation technique walks
students through a three-step procedure to activate prior
knowledge, create a learning purpose, and summarize.
