School head, Mariwen T. Abu, formally orients all the parents in the opening of
the limited face to face classes this coming March 28, 2022. She emphasized that
there is No Discrimination policy in the operning of classes.

Hundreds of students trooped back to school on Monday — the

first time most of them will be attending face-to-face classes in
over two years due to the pandemic.
Paaralang Elementarya reopened, with many
returning to in-person classes. Over 300
students have enrolled this academic year, the
school head (DepEd) said.
For over two years since the pandemic struck
in March 2020, the Philippines was among the
few countries in the world where schools had
not fully opened for in-person classes.
The much long awaited return to face-to-face
classes in Paaralang Elementarya ng
Calingatan was supported by the local
government for the safe reopening of classes.

Calingatan is carrying out a "no discrimination
policy," which allows learners and school
personnel to attend face-to-face classes whether or
not they are vaccinated against COVID-19.
Only 30% of students in the community have been
fully vaccinated against COVID-19, while 100% of
teaching and non-teaching personnel have
completed their shots. DepEd officials are also
rolling out a counseling program alongside mobile
vaccination centers this school year to encourage
parents and students to get their COVID-19 shots.
On the otherhand the local government unit has
deployed barangay personnel to ensure the safety
of all learners and school staff. Barangay officials
checks and validates students health status before

LIMITED F2F CLASSES

2022-2023 for elementary on
Monday, March. 15, 2022;
however, the learning modality
is still blended: three days of
face-to-face classes and two
days of distance learning
modalities. The in-person classes
will be fully implemented come
November 4. The local
governement unit of the
barangay helps the opening of
limited face to face classes.

with the school opening after
the in-person classroom
setting wassuspended for two
years due to the coronavirus
disease (Covid-19) pandemic.
Though there were limited
face-to-face classes in
selected areas where Covid-
19 cases were very low, the
opening of the academic year
happened as if the situation
was already normal.
The pandemic is not yet over
and the virus that carries Covid-19
is still a threat. Now, here are the
questions: Must the Education
officials led by their secretary, Vice
President Sara Duterte, still fear
the Covid-19 threat? If the cases
increase again, would the
government decide to return to the
teaching methods implemented
during the pandemic or continue
the blended learning education?
