PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The new MKC office (Menara Khuan Choo) building
marks the northwest entrance to the Pavilion Retail
Center. Both location and design make Menara
Khuan Choo an ideal setting for office activities
within Kuala Lumpur’s Golden Triangle.

The 10-storey glass and light-colored stone façade is a striking addition to the office building
cluster surrounding the busy Jalan Raja Chulan and Jalan Sultan Ismail intersection, yet blends-in
with the trade-mark appearance of Pavilion commercial center. Menara Khuan Choo is a GBI
Certified Building; do not let the transparency of the building mislead you as it achieves a low
Overall Thermal Transfer Value with DGU glazing of 48.8 w/m2 to help cool the building.

The building has 13.9% of open space and

more than 50% greenery within the
development to reduce overall heat island
effect. Menara Khuan Choo provides natural
daylighting and outdoor views to enhance
the comfort and well-being of the
employees. The Menara Khuan Choo
building structure was constructed with
58.4% using the IBS method and achieved a
concrete utilization index of 0.497m3/m2
which assisted in the journey of
sustainability in such a tight site.

implemented to achieve the GBI
certification includes reducing potable
water usage and water wastage by planting
native and adaptive plants and installing
water efficient fittings. The building has
also adopted several new innovations such
as installing electric vehicle charging
stations and growing an indoor herb garden
making it a Grade A GBI Certified Building.
