To Whom it May Concern:

It is my great pleasure to recommend Tony Stamm for the position of Mathematics Coordinator
in Plymouth Canton Community School. We worked together as elementary Instructional
Specialists for 5 years and most recently as Oakland University graduate students in an Ed.
Specialist cohort. Tony has an amazing ability to lead and bring out the best in others. He is
continuously learning about best practices to facilitate professional learning, providing
instructional support and collaborating with instructional teams at the building level. He has
consistently demonstrated leadership at the school, district and county level.

As graduate students, we embarked upon a comprehensive research project that focused on

the knowledge of professional learning practices, needs to support adult learners, and the
structural components of best practices. Ultimately, we wanted to identify the types of
professional learning that had the most transfer into the classroom.

As a highly valued member of the Ann Arbor Public Schools Curriculum team, I have seen how
he has transformed their delivery of professional learning at the beginning of the school year to
provide inspirational keynote speakers, choices for teachers as well as a vision for sustainable
learning. In addition to this work, he plans and facilitates professional learning at the building
level by leading representative groups of teachers through the curriculum and assessment
process. He is also a trainer for NGSX and has not only facilitated learning around the NGSX
model, but also focused on knowledge-building skills in orchestrating productive discussion
among adult learners and the pedagogical content knowledge about facilitation within the
classroom setting.

As a Curriculum Coordinator for the past 3 years, Tony has been instrumental in developing an
integration plan to provide science resources and curriculum aligned to MSS/NGSS. He has
also successfully conducted a pilot and curriculum adoption of a math resource for Ann Arbor
Open School. He played a major role in supporting and facilitating curriculum development for
their Summer Learning Institute and most recently took on the challenge of supporting a district
change in platform to Schoology. He has worked tirelessly to provide a structure and plan to
help all stakeholders understand the value and accessibility for all.

As a learner, Tony has developed extensive knowledge and experience with innovative and
engaging instructional practices. He is approachable, professional, collaborative, and highly
productive. He has built positive relationships and earned the respect of staff as both a building
Instructional Specialist, District Curriculum Coordinator and Elementary Principal. Tony has a
great deal to offer any school or district. I advocate that Tony would be a great candidate for the
position of Coordinator If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,
