Introduction
Last semester I completed the Advanced English Course at this University. It was an
intense program focus on grammar and academic writing. The following are some
comments about the learning experience.

Highlights
The teachers of each module were highly qualified and had broad experience on academic
and editorial fields which made that the whole course was excellent. I not only learned
advanced grammar and academic jargon, but also how to use them in specific pieces of
writing such as reviews, articles, and essays. What I liked the most is that we were taught to
proofread papers in such away that we raised awareness on our progress by the time we
acquired new skills that certainly will be useful in our professional performance.

Areas of development
The main aspect of the course I disliked was the classroom. Its equipment was obsolete,
and we wasted a lot of time trying to play audiovisuals. On the other hand, as this was an
intense course the assignments deadlines were so close that I did not have time enough to
complete the tasks thoroughly. I would have liked longer terms in order to use the new
knowledge efficiently.

Recommendation
In my own experience this was an excellent course, and I would recommend it to my
colleagues. I found it highly beneficial as it helps to boost English academic language skills
useful to widen the scope of our professional performance into an international network.
