THE SAIPAN CHURCH OF CHRIST ac KINGDOM THE CH URCH John the Baptist, Jesus Christ, and the 12 apostles, before Jesus died on the cross, preached "the kingdom of heaven is at hand." (Mat. 3:2; 4:17; 10:7) In Mark 1:15 Jesus plainly says "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel." Jesus said "The time is fulfilled,” not “will be fulfilled." And when He said "at hand" He meant close, near, not 2,000 years away, or else, why would those people need to repent? "And believe in the Gospel." It is the Gospel where we learn about the church. Paul said, " as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for it.” (Eph, 5:25) And Paul says that this was according to the (Eph. 3:11). After Jesus was resurrected eternal purpose of God, from the grave it is no longer preached to be at hand, but is rather preached as being here. Notice Acts 1:3: “To whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God." Paul spent a lot of time teaching people about the Kingdom of God July 30, 2023 In Acts 19:8 Paul was "boldly for three months, reasoning and persuading concerning the things of the kingdom of God." He said in Acts 28:30, 31. "Then Paul dwelt two whole years in his own rented house, and received all who came to him, preaching the kingdom of God and teaching the things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ with all confidence, no one forbidding him." Paul taught the Kingdom as being present, not future, and people were entering into it: "He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love." Both the church and the kingdom have the same head/ruler. "And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church," (Ephesians 1:21). And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. " (Matthew 28:18, also see 1 Cor. 15:25) "And on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven ...." (Matthew 16:18-19} On the day of Pentecost, in Acts 2, Peter received the keys to the kingdom and opened the doors to the church, and people from all nations began flowing into it (Isa. 2:2). And we are called into both the church and the kingdom.. In Thes. 2:12 Paul writes that it is God who calls us into "His own kingdom.” ‘And in 2 Thes. 2:13, 14 he writes that it is the Gospel that calls us to salvation. And that salvation is in the church (Eph. 5:23). "Jesus answered, You say rightly that 1am a king.
