Flood risk assessment methods and modelling

• Scientific papers present a wide range of methods and models of flood analysis and
forecasting.
• Floods are a phenomenon with significant socio-economic implications, for which
many researchers try to identify the most appropriate methodologies to analyze their
temporal and spatial development.
• Flood risk assessment has become one of the hotspots and difficulties in international
water conservancy and disaster circles.

Aim
• Create an overview of flood analysis, modelling and forecasting methods in north
Cyprus.

Methodology
• The study is based on select and group papers into well-defined methodological and
modelling categories.
• Provides an overview of recent developments in the analysis of flood methodologies
and modelling shows current research directions based on this overview.
• The study will take into account the information included in the Web of Science Core
Collection similar to our study area (climate, rainfall, land use, elevations)

• Proposed paper will conclude the following:


✓ A discussion on the relevance,
✓ Ease of application,

✓ and usefulness of the methodologies and modelling.
