2. Project Background
Throughout the world, millions of young people have to leave their
education behind to find ways to help provide for themselves and their
families most basic needs. This is probably one of the reasons why we
have an increasing number of OUT OF SCHOOL YOUTH.
Barangay Dapdap is one of the premier barangays in the
Municipality of Mabalacat City. One of the effects of an increasing number
of OUT OF SCHOOL YOUTH in the barangay is most of the young people
do not desire to study and learn anymore.
While more children are in school today than ever before, many are
still not learning basic skills outside like reading once they get there.
Literacy Gift Giving is trying to make a Boost by helping to change that by
creating a culture of reading both inside and outside the classroom that
dramatically improves children’s literacy development.
Through Literacy Boost and other effective education and literacy
programs, The Project Coordinator is working together with partners and
stakeholders to ensure that every child gains the skills and knowledge they
need to thrive and develop even if they are outside the school.
Therefore, we should keep boosting and giving support to our
children.
3. List of Gaps and Needs Identified
1. There is an increasing number of OUT OF SCHOOL YOUTH in the
community.
2. A lot of people in the community also needs assistance.

4. Proposed Community Service Project Description and Objectives
LITERACY GIFT GIVING PROGRAM is a program that gives skills
and tools among OUT OF SCHOOL YOUTH. The coordinator together
with the barangay officials will meet and talk about the different plans of
the program in Brgy. Dapdap. It will take months or a year for the
implementation of the project. An estimated amount of P1,100 will be
needed for the completion of the project.

Objectives:

1. To tap possible receivers of the literacy gift giving program in the

community especially OUT OF SCHOOL YOUTH;
2. To donate reliefs among those people of the community who needs
assistance.

5.6 Project Monitoring and Evaluation

The community project shall be monitored by the project committee
leader. All activities shall be documented and supported with attendance,
photos and narratives. Likewise, the project deliverables will be monitored and
evaluated.
