1.0 TITLE : HAND LAY-UP (open mould)

2.0 PURPOSE : To define the criteria and general requirements to carry out hand lay-up
polymer matrix on composite materials.

3.0 EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS : Glass Fibre

4.0 THEORY :

The testing process can be broken down into the following steps:

1. Pre-cleaning mould
2. Gel coat apply
3. Fiberglass reinforcement is placed in the mold.
4. Base resin mixed with catalysts is applied by pouring and brushing.
5. The part is cured at room temperature.(polymerization)
6. The part is removed from the mold surface.
