Product Overview
Table of Contents
Product Role......................................................................................................................1
Product Characteristics..................................................................................................... 1
The high performance of the R5300 G4X is manifested in the following aspects:
Two 3rd Generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors (Ice Lake) are supported,
each of which has up to 40 cores.
Thirty-two DDR4 memory module slots are provided. The maximum rate of the mem-
ory modules can reach 3,200 MT/s.
Two CPUs are interconnected through up to three UPI fast channels, with a maxi-
mum transmission rate of 11.2 GT/s.
High-speed I/O and high-performance NVMe SSDs are supported.
High Scalability
The high scalability of the R5300 G4X is manifested in the following aspects:
A maximum of forty–one 2.5-inch disk slots are provided to meet the requirement for
large-capacity storage.
The number of PCIe slots can be increased to 14 to meet the requirement for flexible
expansion of networks and storage.
A maximum of 28 NVMe SSDs are supported to address the problem of slow access
to disks in traditional configurations.
High Reliability
The high reliability of the R5300 G4X is manifested in the following aspects:
Key parts such as hard disks, power supplies, and fans support hot swapping, im-
proving system reliability.
Multiple data protection ways are provided. For example, the server supports RAID0,
RAID1, RAID5, RAID6, RAID10 and RAID50, and provides protection against a pow-
er supply failure.
Intelligent heat dissipation design increases system reliability while effectively ex-
tending the lifetime of components.
There are two power supply modules, supporting 1+1 redundancy.
The convenient management and easy maintenance of the R5300 G4X are manifested
in the following aspects:
The server provides out-of-band centralized management to manage and monitor re-
sources such as CPUs, memory modules, hard disks, fans, power supplies, and net-
work.
KVMs are supported. The administrator can direct the virtual media of the local con-
sole to a remote server to upgrade software for the remote system in a timely man-
ner, or install and maintain the operating system.
The server provides web-based system management, including the viewing of log
files and the real-time monitoring of the sensor parameters of various modules.
IPMI 2.0 interfaces are supported. The server provides out-of-band management
through IPMI interfaces including the RMCP and SNMP interfaces. Through these
two interfaces, the server can be integrated with a third-party management system
and provide a local management tool.
Figure 2-1 and Figure 2-2 shows two types of external views of the R5300 G4X chassis.

Notice
The R5300 G4X is a class-A product. In real-life scenarios, it may cause radio jamming,
so users may be required to take feasible measures to prevent radio jamming.
Notice
: For security purposes, the R5300 G4X is only applicable to the areas with the alti-
tude lower than 3,000 meters.
Servers with different specifications and models of power supplies can be used at differ-
ent altitudes. For details, refer to "5.1 Physical Specifications".
Front Panel
In accordance with the installation mode and number of hard disks, the front panel of the
R5300 G4X has the following types of configurations:

age device (for example, a USB flash drive for booting the system).
4 Hard Disk operation in- This indicator can be in the following states:
dicator Off: The hard disk is operating properly or the hard disk in the
(Status) RAID array is not present.
Flashing red at 4 Hz: The hard disk is being located.
Flashing red at 1 Hz: The RAID array that the hard disk is in is
being rebuilt.
Steady red: The hard disk cannot be detected, the hard disk is
faulty, or the RAID array that the hard disk is in is not operating
properly.
7 UID button/indicator The button is also used as an indicator. This indicator can be in the
following states:
Flashing at 1 Hz: The server is being remotely maintained or

The seismic resistance, lightning protection, and load bearing of the equipment room
should meet the requirements for equipment room construction and long-term equip-
ment safety.
The equipment room is provided with required anti-static measures and fire equip-
ment. Different voltage sockets must comply with national level-2 fire safety stan-
dards.

lowed in the equipment room.
Corrosive gas pollutant: meets the gas corrosion G1 requirement defined by ANSI/
ISA-71.04-2013.
The corrosion rate of the copper test piece should be as follows: The thickness
growth rate of the corrosion product should be lower than 300 Å/month.
The corrosion rate of the silver test piece should be as follows: The thickness growth
rate of the corrosion product should be lower than 200 Å/month.
Particulate pollutant: meets the requirements of ISO14644-1 Class 8. The equipment
room should be free of explosive, conductive, magnetic and corrosive dust.
Space Requirements
Cabinet Requirements
A standard (IEC) 297 x 19" general-purpose cabinet with a depth ≥1000 mm is required.
Considering different configurations and margins, the load bearing can be calculated
based on the server weight (about 35 kg per server) and the cabinet weight (according
to the actual configuration). For example, when one standard cabinet is configured with
2
12 R5300 G4X servers, the required load bearing should be greater than 600 kg/m .
Note
For detailed requirements on the operating environment of servers, refer to the ZTE
Server Environment Requirements.
