Santa Cruz Beach
Santa Cruz is the capital and largest city of the homonymous county, in the state of
California (United States). It is located on the northern edge of Monterey Bay,
approximately 115 kilometers south of San Francisco.
The land that Santa Cruz occupies today was an Indian settlement during the pre-
Columbian era. At the end of the s. In the 18th century, Santa Cruz became one of the first
Spanish settlements in the Alta California area, with a religious mission that still stands
today. At the end of the s. In the 19th century, once California was already part of the
United States, Santa Cruz became a very popular residential and tourist area, due to its
idyllic beaches and redwood forests. Today, Santa Cruz is a city known throughout the
United States for its moderate climate, its natural beauty, its alternative lifestyle
communities, and the liberal political tendencies of its inhabitants. It also has one of the
campuses of the University of California, which makes it a destination for thousands of
students and researchers from all over the world
In 1769, the Spanish explorer Gaspar de Portolá was traveling to Monterrey, but
accidentally ended up on the opposite side of the bay. De Portolá named the local river San
Lorenzo (in honor of the saint), and the surrounding hills Santa Cruz. In 1791, Father
Fermín Lasuén established the Mission of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, whose
objective was the conversion to Catholicism of the local Indian tribes (the Awaswas and
the Ohlones). Santa Cruz was the twelfth religious mission to be founded in the state of
California. In April 1796, and by order of the Viceroy of New Spain Miguel de la Grúa
Talamanca y Branciforte, Captain Pere d’Alberní and his Free Company of Volunteers of
Catalonia (an irregular unit of 72 soldiers at the service of the Spanish crown) They moved
to California to take charge of the Spanish military headquarters in Monterrey, Santa
Barbara, San Diego, and San Francisco. In what is today the eastern part of Santa Cruz,
Alberní founded the city of Villa Branciforte, in honor of the viceroy. A few years later,
Villa Branciforte and the Santa Cruz Mission were unified and became the current Santa
Cruz.

Malibú
Lagoon State Beach, known as Surfrider Beach for its waves. Nearby is the Spanish
Neocolonial-style Adamson House, with local history exhibits in its Malibu Lagoon
Museum. Inland, trails meander through canyons, waterfalls, and meadows in the Santa
Monica Mountains.
The town of Malibu consists of a 43.5 km line on the Pacific coast, famous for its climate,
its sandy beaches and because several media stars are home there and large entertainment
companies from southeastern California are headquartered there.
Among its most important beaches are Surfrider Beach, Zuma Beach, Malibu State Beach
and Topanga State Beach; its closest parks include Malibu Creek State Park, Santa Monica
Mountains National Recreation Area, and Paradise Cove, where many movies have been
filmed .
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal city west of downtown Los Angeles. Santa Monica Beach is
surrounded by Palisades Park, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. On the Santa Monica Pier,
you'll find the Pacific Park amusement park, the Looff Hippodrome Carousel, and the
Santa Monica Pier Aquarium. Next to the pier is Muscle Beach, an open-air gym
established in the 1930s. In the center of the city is Bergamot Station, which is home to
several art galleries.
Located west of Downtown, Santa Monica Beach (Santa Monica State Beach) is an icon as
well as one of the best examples of the famous beaches on the sunny southern coast of
California.

Glass Beach
This beach is not natural, it was created in various circumstances by man due to
glass waste.

Glass Beach is located in Fort Bragg and for many years was a very forgotten area
in which companies began to dump their glass waste during the twentieth century.

But with the passage of time, the pieces of glass were carved with the sand and the
waves of the waves, turning this into something extraordinary: beautiful colorful
stones.

Nature was responsible for sculpting and rounding the dangerous pieces of glass
that abounded on this beach.

For this curious phenomenon to occur had to spend more than 50 years, however
it should be mentioned that this does not happen on all beaches in the world, this
has to be very close to landfills where there is a constant wave, sand and rocky
stones in which the crystals can collide against them.

Among the most common stones we find the transparent, green and brown, but the
strangest are those that are in blue, orange, red, pink and purple.

There are not many crystal beaches in the world, but when one discovers a new one
immediately adventurous travelers jump to know them. There are in Russia,
Hawaii, Spain, United Kingdom, Japan, but undoubtedly one of the most famous
is the one found in California.

Unfortunately, irresponsible tourism has caused these beaches to be at risk as

many have begun to take hundreds of stones on their trips.
Newport Beach
hizo famosa, The O.C..

Mission Beach
Mission Beach is a coastal community on the Pacific Ocean west of Mission Bay and east
of San Diego. The main artery over Mission Beach is Mission Boulevard, on which it is
divided between South Mission, a peninsula, and North Mission.

Mission Beach spans nearly two miles of ocean, with a waterfront on both sides of the bay
and the ocean, between Mission Bay to the east and Pacific Beach to the north. The
waterfront has been separated and expanded by a yellow line for foot traffic on one side
and wheelchairs on the other side (baby strollers, bicycles and skateboards). At the
southern end of the beach is a jetty, with grass, parking and pedestrian sidewalks that
extends to the ocean.
