9. Two cookie jars are similar.


The base areas of the smaller jar and the bigger jar are 324 cm2 and 529 cm2 respectively.

(a) Find the ratio of the volume of the bigger jar to the volume of the smaller jar.

(b) If the height of the smaller jar is 22 cm, find the height of the larger jar, leaving your
answer to 3 significant figures.

10. Yummy Bakery sells cakes at $0.20 per cm3.


The black forest cake costs $43.20 while the blueberry cheese cake costs $68.60. The two
cakes are similar.

(a) Find the radius of the black forest cake if the radius of the blueberry cheese cake is 2.4
cm more than that of the black forest cake.

(b) If the base area of the blueberry cheesecake is 392 cm2, find the total base area of both
cakes.
