World Quarter 2: Module 1 Lesson 2

Racism as a Literary Theory

Jessa Malana Grade 12-BPP

Intersectionality is the recognition that everyone has their own unique experiences of
discrimination and oppression, and that we must consider everything and anything that can
marginalize people- it includes also the disability, or lack of information given. Racism isn't
about ignorance. some highly educated people have upheld systematic inequality.
The entire world was at ease because we all assumed that China would contain it, but we were
wrong as it resulted in a pandemic that affected the majority of the population. When the
pandemic began, most world leaders considered a lockdown/quarantine as a solution, but the plan
failed.
Initially, China attempted to conceal the corona virus, but one Chinese doctor alerted the public by
posting on social media

Activity 6.
1. What is being tackled in the Critical Race Theory?
According to critical race theory, racism is embedded in laws, regulations, rules, and procedures in
the United States' social institutions (e.g., the criminal justice system, education system, labor
market, housing market, and healthcare system), resulting in disparities in outcomes based on race.

2. Why do scholars use the Racism ideology in different texts, not just in literature?
Scholarship does not only draw attention to and address the concerns of individual affected
by racism, but also those who perpetrate and are seemingly unaffected by racial prejudice.
Racism ideology in various texts, not just literature, is a decidedly complicated term with
varying
implications depending on the context. In everyday language, labeling someone as "ideological"
can be an insult because it implies rigidity in the face of overwhelming evidence contradicting
one's beliefs.

3. How do we distinguish the different tenets of CRT?

Critical Race Theory (CRT) makes race the prism through which its proponents analyze all aspects
of American life. CRT reimagines the U.S. as a nation split by groups, each with specific claims
on victimization. CRT’s intolerance can be found in schools, the workplace, and the entertainment
