LEED Product Information

SIDENOR STEEL INDUSTRY S.A. occupies a leading position in the Greek and Balkan Steel
Industry and has been active in steel products manufacturing for more than 40 years. Its focus
on customer satisfaction and constant technological improvements has placed SIDENOR in this
position. The flexibility in the production of SIDENOR Group plants and the extensive sales and
warehousing network developed by the Company in Greece and foreign markets enable the

The nature of the production process utilized by our production plants (steel scrap melting in an
electric arc furnace) requires the collection and recycling of a valuable material contributing to
the sustainable development of our planet through conservation of natural resources.
SIDENOR’s Environmental Management System includes the implementation of Best Available
Techniques in various areas of the production process in order to ensure the minimization of
environmental impacts.

The steel plants of SIDENOR, SOVEL (Greece) and STOMANA INDUSTRY (Bulgaria) have
been certified for Environmental Management Systems according to EN ISO 14001:2015 as
well as for Sustainability Management according to EUROFER’s Sustainability Certification
Scheme (SustSteel).

SIDENOR Group, with the two modern steel plants in Greece and one in Bulgaria, recycles over
2,000,000 tons of steel scrap per year, turning them into finished, ready-to-use steel products.
SIDENOR Group is the largest steel scrap recycler in Greece and one of the largest in the
Balkans.

Recycled Content

The steel products (reinforcing steel, wire fabric, merchant bars, wire rod) delivered by
SIDENOR STEEL INDUSTRY S.A. are produced by the company’s steel plants, SIDENOR-
Thessaloniki, SOVEL-Almyros and STOMANA-Pernik, using as raw material 100% steel scrap.
Typical recycled content for steel manufactured by SIDENOR STEEL INDUSTRY S.A. is:

Total recycled content = 100%

Post-consumer recycled content = 95%
Pre-consumer recycled content = 5%

Regional Materials

The SIDENOR‘s steels to be delivered to S.C. PROCEMA RWP S.A. will be produced from
scrap collected in an area inside 500 miles around Bucharest, satisfying the requirement for raw
materials to be harvested close to the project site.
