SERVICE FOR THE LORDS DAY September 25, 2011 ORGAN PRELUDE My Shepherd Will Supply My Need WORDS OF WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS CHORAL INTROIT *CALL TO WORSHIP Leader: In the sight of our ancestors, the Lord worked marvels. People: God divided the sea and let them pass through it; Leader: The Lord guided them each day with a cloud and each night with fire. All: Let us tell of Gods marvelous works to all generations. *HYMN #72G Great Is Thy Faithfulness *PRAYER OF CONFESSION Eternal God, as the Christ, you showed us that love looks not to its own interests, but to the interests of others. We lament how little we resemble you in your humility, dedication, and love. We are driven too often by ambition and conceit. We defend our views, arguing without understanding. We speak of love, but resist the sacrifices love requires. Gracious God, you are at work in us. Fill us and shape us with your spirit, that we may will and work for your pleasure, loving our neighbors as ourselves. *MOMENTS FOR SILENT, PERSONAL CONFESSION *ASSURANCE OF PARDON *AFFIRMATION OF FAITH The Apostles Creed (back cover of bulletin) *GLORIA PATRI (back cover of bulletin) CHILDRENS MESSAGE Flynn

You could sign up with a friend to help or on your own. Teenagers are always willing to help if there are a lot of babies on your particular Sunday. Thanks to Nick and Colleen you can now hear the service from the nursery!! This is an important ministry of our church and it would be great to staff it with volunteers. Note: Change of Date The Annual Old Church Memorial Service will not be held next Sunday, October 2nd. New tentative date is October 9th. Please stay tuned for details. Dan Bestwick, a First Responder of 9/11 will be the guest speaker.
