8)CHAPTER: THE KILLING OF ABU

JAHL
‫باب قَ ْت ِل َأبِي َجه ٍْل‬
1.MUNASABA
In the previous chapter The Prophet (sa) invoked evil on some people of
Quraish namely on Shaiba bin Rabi`a, `Utba bin Rabi`a, Al-Walid bin `Utba and
Abu Jahl bin Hisham. In this chapter it’s telling the story of how Abu Jahl was
killed in the battle of Badr.

2.GARZ
To explain how Prophet’s (sa) dua was accepted and how Abu Jahl was killed.
Who killed Abu Jahl. There are various different views on who killed Abu Jahl.
Imam bukhari is trying to proof who killed Abu Jahl.

3.MUTABAKA
In the hadith of Anas he narrates, “The Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬said, "Who will go and
see what has happened to Abu Jahl?" Ibn Mas`ud went and found that the
two sons of 'Afra had struck him fatally (and he was in his last breaths).”
In the Hadith of Abu Talha he narrates, “On the day of Badr, the Prophet (‫)ﷺ‬
ordered that the corpses of twenty four leaders of Quraish should be thrown into
one of the dirty dry wells of Badr.”
9) CHAPTER: SUPERIORITY OF
THOSE WHO FOUGHT THE
BATTLE OF BADR
‫باب فَضْ ُل َم ْن َش ِه َد بَ ْد ًرا‬
1.MUNASABA
In the previous chapter it was described how the infidels ware killed and
humiliated in the battle of Badr. In this chapter its describing the superiority
of those Sahaba who fought the battle of Badr. It mentions the deceased of
Muslims who were martyrs.

2.GARZ
To explain the superiority of the Sahaba who fought the battle of Badr.

3.MUTABAKA
In the hadith of Anas he narrates, about Haritha who was martyred on the
day (of the battle) of Badr, Prophet sa said he  is in the (most superior)
Paradise of Al- Firdaus.
In the hadith of Ali ra he narrates, Prophet sa said, “May be Allah looked at
the Badr warriors and said, 'Do whatever you like, as I have granted
Paradise to you, or said, 'I have forgiven you.”

10)CHAPTER:
‫باب‬
ٍ
1.MUNASABA
2
In the previous chapter explained the superiority of the Sahaba who fought
the battle of Badr. In this chapter it continues about Badr. How Sahaba fought
in the Badr, Prophet’s instructions how to shoot, how they were injured and
martyred.

2.GARZ
To explain how Sahaba fought in the Badr, Prophet’s instructions how to
shoot, how they were injured and martyred. In a completion to Badr as it
gives different cases to the battle which all show it’s miscellaneous to Badr
hence why no chapter heading.

3.MUTABAKA
In the hadith of Abu Usaid he narrates, prophet sa said "When your enemy
comes near to you (i.e. overcome you by sheer number), shoot at them
but use your arrows sparingly."
In the hadith of Al-Bara, he narrates, “On the day (of the battle) of Badr, the
Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬and his companions had inflicted 140 casualties on the pagans, 70
were taken prisoners, and 70 were killed.”

11) THE PARTICIPATION OF

ANGELS IN (THE BATTLE) OF
BADR
‫ُود ْال َمالَِئ َك ِة بَ ْد ًرا‬
ِ ‫باب ُشه‬
1.MUNASABA
In the previous chapter it was narrated how Sahaba fought in the Badr, in this
chapter it narrated the participation of angels in (the battle) of Badr

2.GARZ

3
To explain the participation of angels in (the battle) of Badr. This supports
the verse of Quran, Allah says,
“Remember when you [O Muhammad, peace be upon him] were saying to the
Believers, ‘Is it not enough for you that your Lord will reinforce you with
3000 angels sent down?’ / Of course [it is enough for you]! [In fact,] if you all
are steadfast and God-fearing, and they rush in attack towards you, then your
Lord will reinforce you with 5000 angels bearing distinguished markings.”
[Quran 3:124-125]
In the next verse, the Lord says:

“Remember when you all cried out for help from your Lord, and so you were
answered thus: “Indeed, I will reinforce you with a thousand angels, rank
after rank.” [Quran 8:9]

Clearly, both verses are not reporting the final number of angels that were
actually present- only, how many were successively offered to the believers
as the crisis ensued. The more they were patient despite their fear, the more
the Lord helped them with a heavenly host. So at the initial instance that
they pleaded for help, the Lord promised them 1000 angels, as a first wave of
support, which was followed up by rank upon rank of more angels, as many
exegetical works on the Quran explain.

Then, the Prophet (peace be upon him) encouraged them to stay the course
for more divine support, in the form of 3000 angels, and when they showed
true faith despite the oppression, Allah would pour even more of His divine
mercy onto the believers, with another wave, making it 5000 angels. In fact,
an authentic narration spells this out clearly, when Rabee’ ibn Anas says:
“Allah aided the Muslims on the day of Badr with 1000 [angels], then He
increased them in help, so they were 3000, then He increased them in help, so
they were 5000.” [as quoted in Fath al Bari, al-Asqalani]

3.MUTABAKA
In the hadith of Ibn Abbas ra he narrated, “The Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬said on the
day (of the battle) of Badr, "This is Gabriel holding the head of his horse
and equipped with arms for the battle.”

12)CHAPTER:
4
‫باب‬
1.MUNASABA
In the previous chapters it was mentioned sahaba’s and angels participation
in the Badr, how they fought. In this chapter it continues more about battle of
Badr. Imam bukhari compiled some miscellanies ahadith about the
companions who fought battle of Badr.

2.GARZ
To describe miscellanies stories about the companions who fought battle of
Badr.

3.MUTABAKA
In the hadith of Urwa, Az-Zubair said, "I met Ubaida bin Sa`id bin Al-As on the
day (of the battle) of Badr and he was covered with armor; so much that only
his eyes were visible.
In the hadith of Ali ra, he narrated, “I had a she-camel which I got in my share
from the booty of the battle of Badr, and the Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬had given me
another she camel from the Khumus which Allah had bestowed on him that
day.”
In the hadith of Abdullah bin Shaddad bin Al-Had Al-Laithi: he narrates, “I
saw Rifa`a bin Rafi` Al-Ansari who was a Badr warrior.”
In the hadith of Qais, he narrated, “The Badr warriors were given five
thousand (Dirhams) each, yearly. `Umar said, "I will surely give them more
than what I will give to others."

in this hadith maybe the narrator Abu Abdullah knew the names of 44 sahaba only.
