BG 15 Error Code Lisit and State Signaling-1-1-1-1
ERROECODE: 01 (B)
CAUSE: 1) One of the two poles of the 24Vdc power supply (24R or 0V on the BG15) is connected
to earth (PE).
REMEDY: 1) Check the 24volt circuits (door limit switch, photo cell, inspection box, display, gong,
push button, button lamps…) proceed disconnecting all wires involved and check one by
one until the fault is found.
2) With a voltmeter measure the voltage between 0V and earth and between earth and
24V, in a normal condition they should be exactly the half of the voltage measured, if
between 0V and earth is lower means that the wires conducting the 0V could have some
short circuit to earth, if it is lower between earth and 24V than the problem comes from the
wires conducting the 24V.
CAUSE: 1) The car does not reach, running in slow speed, the landing floor in the programmed
standard time (14 seconds) or time programmed at PAR 0B.
2) Increase the low speed time, programmed at address PAR 0B (write 1E= 30sec).
3) With Tapehead: The stopping Zone are set 0, the cabin does not stop at required floor
continuing at slow speed until “02” error is shown. Check Stopping Zone at address D2
and D3.
4) With Tapehead: The unlocking Zone are set at 0, the cabin does not stop at required
floor continuing at slow speed till “02” error is shown. Check Unlocking Zone and write
02 at D4 and 24 at D5.
5) With Tapehead, the slow-down distances are not correctly programmed and the cabin
travels for a too long distance at V0. Check distance D0-D1 for V2.
ERROR CODE: 03 (D)
CAUSE: 1) In inspection mode, the upward or downward push button is pushed for a time longer
than the one programmed at address 0D.
CAUSE: 1) The safety chain is interrupted before X4-6 terminal. One or more of the car safety
contact (stop, slack rope, safety gear, etc….) in the hoistway (final limit switch,
stop switch in pit, etc…) in the machine room (speed governor, etc).
2) Because of a short circuit in the safety chaine the automatic valve DI is switched
off.
3) For hydraulic elevator or with advanced door opening ( door zone control by
REED switch) the time relay KC operates.
5) The tension rods of the ropes are too close to the slack ropes plate opening the
safety contact.
2) For hydraulic elevators or with advanced door opening, check the good operation
of N.O. REED in the door zone and the right position of magnets.
5) If voltage of safety chain is present at “6” of BG15, the board may be faulty.
ERROR CODE: 05 (D)
CAUSE: 1) During the RESET operation after 3 staring attempts, the safety chain does not
close between X4-8 and X4-10 terminals.
REMEDY: 1) Check the contacts of the landing door locks and the wiring
2) For installation with swing doors, check also the contacts of the car doors.
3) The door contact may bounce and filtering time is not enough to solve the
problem. Write 14 (0, 2 sec) at AD PAR 1E.
4) If voltage of safety chain is present at “10” of BG15, the board may be faulty.
CAUSE: 1) 7 Function can be programmed on 4 outputs. One output cannot be used for two
functions.

7A-7B, they should not have the same segments lighted and then modify the
program.
STATE CODE: 08 (D)
This is not an error but a function. If activated the car cannot start, if calls are registered they will be
answered when “NO START” is no more active. This function is used to start the cabins of a car group
in a row in order not to overload the supply.
CAUSE: 1) The maximum operation temperature, 110oC for the motor, or 70oC for
oil has been exceeded.
REMEDY: 1) Stop the lift until the running conditions are restored and search the
overheating causes.
2) Check if thermo contact or PTC are OK. In any case, shunting 0V and
“STH” the error must disappear, if not replace BG15.
REMEDY: 1) Check that with an up call actually the car goes up, and vice versa.
2) Check the right position of the magnets in the hoistway and check that the
connection A and B of REED Switches (ILS) are not inverted. Check on
main board BG15 the LEDs CA, corresponding to sensor A, and CB
corresponding to B, light up in the right order.
3) For traction rope elevator check phase sequence on traction motor. Check
also the balancing between car and counterweight if the fall of the cabin is
too much at starting when an up call is given.

AT STOPPING
2) Check the operation of the command circuit or/ and the control circuit of
contactors (see wiring diagram). Check the auxiliary contacts on the
contactors command circuit.

safety chain could be too high causing a drop of the voltage. Try to add
where it is possible an auxiliary contact in parallel to the existing one
on the contactors command circuit.
4) Check that the jumper SW7 is placed on TRAC for a traction lift and
HYDR for hydraulic.
CAUSE: 1) A limit switch should operate, when in inspection, to prevent the car
going beyond 1.5m from the roof of the hoistway.
CAUSE: 1) The Phase relay (KDF) does not switch on because one or more phases
are lost.
REMEDY: 1) Check the right power supply to the controller, terminal L1, L2, L3.
Exchange the phases if necessary. Always check the correct rotation of the
motor of the hydraulic power unit or the traction machine. This defect
might also came out at starting when the main power supply is not enough
or the temporary site supply is too feeble.
2) Check if the fault is the main board BG15: shunt 0V and “STH” on
BG15; if error disappears the board is OK.
ERROR CODE: 18 (A)
TERMINAL X4-8
