EDUCATION IN NIGERIA FOR HIV (STRIPEN HIV)

CALL FOR APPLICATION

STRIPEN-HIV aims to produce the next generation of health care workers that can deliver
high quality, collaborative, evidence-informed HIV care and ability to respond to national
and global health threats such as COVID-19. The project plans to train pre and in-service

training across Africa, respond to PEPFAR’s commitment to strengthening the caliber of
HIV training for health professionals; focus on strengthening inter-professional
collaboration and institutional synergies to optimize Human Resources for Health (HRH).
The target population are health care professionals.
The training will be virtual and will last for three consecutive weeks (Saturdays) using
LMS platforms and zoom for interactions and course delivery. There will be three (3)
modules per week and nine (9) modules in total.

Eligibility criteria Benefit of the Training

ii. Health profession trainees (medical
doctors/nurses/pharmacists/lab
scientist) in their penultimate or final
year in recognised institutions in
Nigeria
iii. Early career health professionals that
work at PEPFAR treatment centers or
other healthcare institutions
throughout Nigeria who are currently
providing or intending to provide
frontline care for patients with HIV, TB,
COVID-19, or other infectious diseases.
iv. Health profession interns (house
officers/nurse interns/pharmacy
interns/lab scientist interns) in their
internship/housemanship training,
less than 24months of graduation.
v. Have never participated in Previous
STRIPEN trainings.

• Improved/broadened knowledge
on HIV and infectious disease
management.
• Appreciation of all health
professions roles in the provision
of care for patients
• Exposure to a new learning (case
based) method which gives rooms
for participants expression and
comfortable learning.
