SNC-Lavalin is currently looking for Senior Mechanical / Process Engineers to join our engineering
team in Mississauga, Ontario. This position is for full time regular employment.

H ow w i l l yo u c o n t r i b u t e t o t h e t e a m ?

This position requires an individual who is self-motivated and capable of working independently or
under the instruction from a senior technical engineer and develop his/her career and experience in
nuclear eld.

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

Develop, plan, schedule, conduct and coordinate engineering work.


Provide technical guidance and leadership to engineers at lower grade levels and/or other technical
employees.
Coordinate and review the work of engineers and support employees.
Provide design solutions and assessments for new, updated and modied process systems,
structures and components.
Perform thermalhydraulic evaluations on complex systems.
Performing design/analysis of hydraulic and electro-mechanical systems.
Prepare and /or review design documents for Nuclear Power Plants; e.g., Design Calculation,
Assessments, Technical Specications, Drawings, Bill of Materials, and System Code Classication.
Prepare and/or review Engineering Quotation Request and Tender Technical Evaluations.
Prepare and/or review Engineering packages.
Perform walkdowns, attend site visits and meetings as required.
Ensure applicable code, standards and regulatory requirements are met.
Provide support for the preparation of Engineering proposals.
Ensure adherence to company quality program.
Ensure adherence to project delivery requirements and schedule.
Support Engineering Management with timely updates on engineering progress.
Interface with internal and external stake holders as required.

W h a t w i l l yo u c o n t r i b u t e ?

Engineering degree from an accredited University in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering,


Nuclear Engineering or Engineering Science. P.eng required.
Working knowledge of/experience using nuclear Codes and Standards, including CSA N285.0 and
ASME Section III.
Experience working in or performing design work for a nuclear facility licensed in Canada or a
nuclear reactor licensed outside Canada.
Experience performing thermalhydraulic evaluations on complex systems.
Experience performing design/analysis of hydraulic and electro-mechanical systems.
Knowledge of analytical tools used for mechanical and process design; e.g., ANSYS, Mathcad,
Flowmaster, NUCIRC, CATHENA or similar.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in process-system design/analysis, preferably providing design
solutions for CANDU nuclear power plants or BWR/PWR markets.
Must have excellent technical and practical skills to resolve engineering issues or technical
problems.
Must have excellent communication and technical writing skills.
Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
environment.
Site experience in construction, or commissioning of plant mechanical systems for nuclear or other
heavy industries would be an asset.
Working knowledge of/experience with the CSA B51 standard, ASME B31.1 codes and other nuclear-
power-plant applicable standards or regulatory guides related to permanent plant components,
pressure boundary equipment, and/or reactor systems.
Experience performing work to nuclear power plants procedures and practices and qualications for
nuclear power plants engineering activities is an asset.
Registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario is an asset.
Eligible for Security Clearance through Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC).
