RULES AND REGULATIONS
SHADES
FACE PAINTING
MEHNDI COMPETITION
● Participation: Individual
● Time Limit for the competition is max. 2 hrs. and 30 min.
● Style: Participants are free to choose the style of their designs.
● Topic will be ‘Regional and National Festivals’.
● Participants must bring their own materials, including henna cones.
● Participants are supposed to bring a person along for application of mehndi.
● Any prior designs drawn on hands or paper are prohibited.
POSTER MAKING:
● This will be a solo competition.
● Time Limit for the competition is max. 2 hrs. and 30 min.
● Topic will be ‘‘G20: A Dream Program of India”.
● Sheets will be provided on the spot.
● The participants need to carry along necessary materials like colours.
● Judgement will be judged on the basis of creativity, innovation, colour combination and
design.
● Decisions of the judges/organizers will be final and binding.
RANGOLI MAKING
● This will be a solo competition.
● Time Limit for the competition is max. 2 hrs. and 30 min.

● Participants shall bring their own material for the competition.
● Topic will be ‘Regional and National Festivals’
● Only one medium shall be used:
- Poster Colours
- Flower Petals
- Saw- dust
- Pulses
- Rice without pasting.
● Participants shall prepare the rangoli within the space provided by the organizers.
● Judgement will be based on Theme relevance, Creativity and Design.
● Decisions of the judges/organizers will be final and binding.

CLASSICAL INSTRUMENTAL SOLO (NON- PERCUSSION – SWAR VADYA like Veena, Sitar, Harmonica,
etc.)
CLASSICAL INSTRUMENTAL SOLO (PERCUSSION – TAL VADYA like Tabla, Dholki, Mridangam, etc.)
● Any Indian, National and Regional language is allowed for the performances.
● Maximum 6 singers in a group and number of accompanists playing instruments shall be three.
● No film song should be presented as a group song.
● Maximum time allowed for the group song is 3-4 minutes which does not include setting time.
The setting time for a group shall not exceed 2 minutes.
● Judging of these items will be on the basis of quality of singing only and not on make- up,
costumes and actions of the team.

GROUP SONG (WESTERN):
● There should be maximum 6 singers in a group and maximum number of accompanists playing
instruments shall be three.
● The group songs should be taken from the English language.
● Maximum time allowed for the group song is 3-4 minutes which does not include setting time.
The setting time for a group shall not exceed 2 minutes.
● Judging of these items will be on the basis of quality of singing only and not on make- up,
costumes and actions of the team.
THE DAZZLERS
CLASSICAL DANCE-SOLO
● The classical dance can be from any of the approved schools of dance. Such as Kathak,
Kathakali, Bharat Natyam, Manipuri, Kuchipudi, Mohinittam, Odissi etc.
● Participants will be allowed up to 3-4 minutes including time for preparation. Maximum three
accompanists are permissible.
● Judgment will be based on the qualities like Tal, Technique, Rhythm, Abhinaya or Expression,
Costumes, Footwork and general impression etc.
● Print of a brief note on the description of dance story involved in it, if any, and of the
accompanying song, with its meaning in Hindi or English must be submitted at the time of
registration.
● Maximum 10 participants allowed per team. The team may consist of all boys, all girls or a
mixture of both.
● The number of accompanists permissible is five.
● The dance can be either primitive or a folk dance (Indian Style) but not a classical one.
● Duration of dance should not be more than 3-4 minutes.
● Print of a brief note giving the theme and the text of the song if any, is to be submitted at the
time of registration.
● The participating team will be responsible for removal of their sets / properties etc.
immediately after the completion of their performance.

● Judgment will be based on the basis of Rhythm, Formation, Expression, Costumes, Make-up,
sets on Overall Effect.
● Time for sets/ Instruments setting is maximum 2 minutes.
SAHITYA
ELOCUTION

● Exceeding the time limit will lead to disqualification.
● Topic for poetry will be ‘YUVA’.
● Participants can present their own self-written poetry.
● Any provoking acts or which can affect the sentiments of any community will lead
to disqualification.
● Hindi, English & Gujarati Languages are allowed.
● Judgement will be based on expressions, creativity, pronunciation, language skills.
● Decisions of the judges/organizers will be final and binding.
