RULES AND REGULATIONS

SHADES

ON THE SPOT PAINTING:

● This will be a solo competition.


● Time Limit for the competition is max. 2 hrs. and 30 min.
● Sheets will be provided on the spot.
● Topic will be ‘Campus Architecture/Buildings and Landscaping’.
● Participants should bring their own colours, brushes etc.
● Judgement will be based on Theme relevance, Creativity, Innovation and Design.
● Decisions of the judges/organizers will be final and binding.

FACE PAINTING

● This will be a solo competition.


● Time Limit for the competition is max. 2 hrs. and 30 min.
● Participants shall bring their own material for the competition.
● Participants are supposed to bring a person along.
● Judgement will be based on Theme relevance, Creativity and Design.
● Participants are free to choose the topic and it should be decent.
● Decisions of the judges/organizers will be final and binding.

MEHNDI COMPETITION

● Participation: Individual
● Time Limit for the competition is max. 2 hrs. and 30 min.
● Style: Participants are free to choose the style of their designs.
● Topic will be ‘Regional and National Festivals’.
● Participants must bring their own materials, including henna cones.
● Participants are supposed to bring a person along for application of mehndi.
● Any prior designs drawn on hands or paper are prohibited.

POSTER MAKING:
● This will be a solo competition.
● Time Limit for the competition is max. 2 hrs. and 30 min.
● Topic will be ‘‘G20: A Dream Program of India”.
● Sheets will be provided on the spot.
● The participants need to carry along necessary materials like colours.
● Judgement will be judged on the basis of creativity, innovation, colour combination and
design.
● Decisions of the judges/organizers will be final and binding.

RANGOLI MAKING
● This will be a solo competition.
● Time Limit for the competition is max. 2 hrs. and 30 min.

● Participants shall bring their own material for the competition.
● Topic will be ‘Regional and National Festivals’
● Only one medium shall be used:
- Poster Colours
- Flower Petals
- Saw- dust
- Pulses
- Rice without pasting.
● Participants shall prepare the rangoli within the space provided by the organizers.
● Judgement will be based on Theme relevance, Creativity and Design.
● Decisions of the judges/organizers will be final and binding.

SHOWSTOPPERS

MODELLING

● This will be a solo competition.


● Two ramp rounds will be conducted for the modelling competition.
● Judgment will be based on Walk, Theme Justification, Costume and confidence.
● Decisions of the judges/organizers will be final and binding.

SPOTLIGHT

MIMICRY:

● This will be a solo competition.


● Maximum time for the performance is 3-4 minutes.
● Exceeding time limit and use of inappropriate actions or voices will lead to disqualification.
● Participants may mimic the Sound of Machines, Speeches of well-known personalities etc.,
including film personalities, and Beatboxing.
● Judgment will be based on Imitation skills, Variety of sound, voices imitated and overall
presentation.
● Use of offensive language is strictly prohibited.
● Decisions of the judges/organizers will be final and binding.

MONO ACTING

● This will be a solo competition.


● Maximum time for the performance is 2-3 minutes.
● Exceeding the time limit will lead to disqualification.
● Only English or Hindi languages are allowed.
● Mixing of languages will lead to disqualification.
● Judgment will be based on expressions, voice modulation, creativity, originality, renunciation,
language, theme relevance, and acting skills.
● Use of offensive language is strictly prohibited.
● Decisions of the judges/organizers will be final and binding.

RHYTHM

CLASSICAL SOLO SONG

● This will be a solo competition.


● Maximum time for the performance is 2-3 minutes.
● Time for stage/ Instruments setting is maximum 30 sec.
● Exceeding the time limit will lead to disqualification.
● Maximum two accompanists are allowed.
● Items of any genre can be presented.
● Judgment will be based on the qualities like Taal, selection of Raag, composition and general
impression.
● Decisions of the judges/organizers will be final and binding.

SOLO SINGING (ANY GENRE):

● This will be a solo competition.


● Maximum time for the performance is 2-3 minutes.
● Time for stage/ Instruments setting is maximum 30 sec.
● Exceeding the time limit will lead to disqualification.
● Maximum two accompanists are allowed.
● Items of any genre can be presented.
● Judgment will be based on the qualities like Taal, selection of Raag, composition and general
impression.
● Decisions of the judges/organizers will be final and binding.

WESTERN SONG SOLO:

● This will be a solo competition.


● Time for Stage/ Instruments setting is maximum 1 minute.
● The number of accompanists would not be more than two.
● Duration of the song shall be between 2-3 minutes.
● Language of the song shall only be English.
● Judgment will be made on the qualities like composition, rhythm, coordination and general
impression.

LIGHT VOCAL (INDIAN)

● Time for Stage/ Instruments setting is maximum 1 minute.


● The number of accompanists would not be more than two.
● Duration of the song shall be between 2-3 minutes.
● Only non-film songs/ geet/ ghazal/ bhajan/ shabad and abhangas can be presented.
● Judgment will be made on the qualities like swara, taal, selection of raga, composition and
general impression.

CLASSICAL INSTRUMENTAL SOLO (NON- PERCUSSION – SWAR VADYA like Veena, Sitar, Harmonica,
etc.)

● Duration of performance is max. 3-4 min.


● Time for stage/ Instruments setting is maximum 1 minute.
● Maximum number of accompanists is two.
● Participants must bring their own instruments, Casio not allowed.
● Instruments of western origin adopted to the India Raga system are allowed.
● Items can be presented in either Hindustani or Karnatk style.
● Judgment will be based on the qualities like, swara, tal, selection of raga, composition and
general impression.

CLASSICAL INSTRUMENTAL SOLO (PERCUSSION – TAL VADYA like Tabla, Dholki, Mridangam, etc.)

 Duration of performance is max. 3-4 min.


● Time for stage/ Instruments setting is maximum 1 minute.
● Maximum number of accompanists is two.
● Participants must bring their own instruments.
● Items can be presented in either Hindustani or Karnatk style.
● Judgment will be based on the qualities like, taal, selection of raga, composition and general
impression

WESTERN INSTRUMENTAL SOLO (Guitar, Drums, Piano, Violin, Keyboard etc.)

● A participant shall play western music on any percussion or non-percussion instrument.


● The duration of the performance is minimum 3 and maximum 4 minutes. The computation of
time shall start immediately after the final announcement by the organizers.
● Maximum 2 accompanists are allowed.
● The participant can perform any one genre/style or fuse various genres/styles of western
music.
● Time for stage/ Instruments setting is maximum 1 minute.

GROUP SONG (INDIAN):

● Any Indian, National and Regional language is allowed for the performances.
● Maximum 6 singers in a group and number of accompanists playing instruments shall be three.
● No film song should be presented as a group song.
● Maximum time allowed for the group song is 3-4 minutes which does not include setting time.
The setting time for a group shall not exceed 2 minutes.
● Judging of these items will be on the basis of quality of singing only and not on make- up,
costumes and actions of the team.

GROUP SONG (WESTERN):

● There should be maximum 6 singers in a group and maximum number of accompanists playing
instruments shall be three.
● The group songs should be taken from the English language.
● Maximum time allowed for the group song is 3-4 minutes which does not include setting time.
The setting time for a group shall not exceed 2 minutes.
● Judging of these items will be on the basis of quality of singing only and not on make- up,
costumes and actions of the team.

THE DAZZLERS

FOLK / TRIBAL SOLO DANCE

● This will be a solo competition.


● Maximum duration for the performance is 2-3 min.
● The dance can be either primitive or a folk dance (Indian Style) but not a classical one.
● Exceeding the time limit will lead to disqualification.
● The Track should be submitted at the Registration Desk prior to performance.
● Judgment will be based on the basis of Rhythm, Formation, Expression, Costumes, Make-up,
sets on Overall Effect.
● Decisions of the judges/organizers will be final and binding.

CLASSICAL DANCE-SOLO

● The classical dance can be from any of the approved schools of dance. Such as Kathak,
Kathakali, Bharat Natyam, Manipuri, Kuchipudi, Mohinittam, Odissi etc.
● Participants will be allowed up to 3-4 minutes including time for preparation. Maximum three
accompanists are permissible.
● Judgment will be based on the qualities like Tal, Technique, Rhythm, Abhinaya or Expression,
Costumes, Footwork and general impression etc.
● Print of a brief note on the description of dance story involved in it, if any, and of the
accompanying song, with its meaning in Hindi or English must be submitted at the time of
registration.

GROUP DANCE (FOLK / TRIBAL)

● Maximum 10 participants allowed per team. The team may consist of all boys, all girls or a
mixture of both.
● The number of accompanists permissible is five.
● The dance can be either primitive or a folk dance (Indian Style) but not a classical one.
● Duration of dance should not be more than 3-4 minutes.
● Print of a brief note giving the theme and the text of the song if any, is to be submitted at the
time of registration.
● The participating team will be responsible for removal of their sets / properties etc.
immediately after the completion of their performance.

● Judgment will be based on the basis of Rhythm, Formation, Expression, Costumes, Make-up,
sets on Overall Effect.
● Time for sets/ Instruments setting is maximum 2 minutes.

GROUP DANCE (WESTERN)

● Participation: Max 10 participants per team


● Maximum duration for the performance is 3-4 minutes.
● In this competition the participants can perform any genre like: Bollywood, Free Style, Hip-Hop
etc.
● Exceeding the time limit will lead to disqualification.
● The Track should be submitted at the Registration Desk prior to performance.
● Judgement will be based on creativity, style, choreography and the overall performance.
● Decisions of the judges/organizers will be final and binding.

SOLO DANCE (Bollywood, Free Style, Hip-Hop etc.)

● This will be a solo competition.


● Maximum duration for the performance is 2-3 min.
● In this competition the participant can perform any genre like: Bollywood, Free Style, Hip-Hop
etc.
● Exceeding the time limit will lead to disqualification.
● The Track should be submitted at the Registration Desk prior to performance.
● Judgement will be based on creativity, style, choreography and the overall performance.
● Decisions of the judges/organizers will be final and binding.

SAHITYA

ELOCUTION

● This will be a solo competition.


● The Topic of Elocution will be ‘NEP: A Revolution for a New Era of Education ’.
● Maximum duration for the performance is 3-4 min.
● Exceeding the time limit will lead to disqualification.
● English or Hindi Language is allowed only.
● Use of any kind of offensive language is strictly prohibited.
● Judgment will be based on: Points delivered and confidence.
● Defaming any personality, religion, country etc. will lead to the disqualification.
● Decisions of the judges/organizers will be final and binding.

POEM RECITATION – HINDI, ENGLISH & GUJARATI:

● This will be a solo competition.


● Maximum duration for the performance is 2-3 minutes.

● Topic for poetry will be ‘YUVA’.
● Participants can present their own self-written poetry.
● Any provoking acts or which can affect the sentiments of any community will lead
to disqualification.
● Hindi, English & Gujarati Languages are allowed.
● Judgement will be based on expressions, creativity, pronunciation, language skills.
● Decisions of the judges/organizers will be final and binding.
