Clue Game:
Children work in teams to come up with clues for pictures of
objects or actions. They
share their clues, and the other team tries to guess the object or
action.

The children then have to create short sentences to match the

images. The other teams have to guess what the object or action is.

Give below as an example below to model to the children how to

play the game.
I am often red, and I am
healthy to eat. What am I?

I am an apple.

Start from here:

I am round and I am fun to

with. What am I?
I have 4 legs and I bark. What
am I?

I have 4 legs and I say grrrrr.

F: The last animal you identify is a Lion. Are you familiar with
lions? What lions do?
Let us all go out and imagine that there are lions around the
campus.
(The teacher has to proceed to a shady area surrounded with
plants. There they sit.)

Lesson Focus F: Today we are going to read a story about a lion with a

problem. Can you guess what the lion’s problem was?

the correct meaning is given, the learner will use the defined
word into his/her own sentence.)

After the unlocking, the following questions are to be asked:

Have you ever had a toothache before? What did it feel like?
What did you do to make your toothache feel better? What could a
lion do to make its toothache feel better?

During Reading

“Maharaj, get this tooth extracted,” suggested the monkey, the

jungle physician.

“Alright,” agreed the lion.

Who would extract the lion’s tooth? They were all terrified of him!

“Maharaj, I will give you a kick with my hind legs. The tooth will
pop out,” said the
foolish donkey.“You will dare to kick the king?” roared the lion
peevishly. The donkey tucked his tail between his legs and ran off.

The elephant, cheetah, bear, and deer were all worried. Who would
stick their hand
into the lion's mouth?

Two days passed. The toothache was getting unbearable.

“Should I take a look?” asked the mouse one night when the lion
and she were alone.

What do you think the mouse found?

“Alright,” said the lion and opened his mouth wide.

“Oh! There is a lot of dirt trapped between your teeth!” said the
mouse taking a peek
inside. Using her sharp teeth, she cleaned out the lion’s teeth. The
lion felt much
better.
“Maharaj, please clean your teeth every day, or else your teeth will
rot,” said the wise
little mouse.

“Yes, you are right. But please don’t tell anybody or they will say
their king doesn’t
keep clean…” pleaded the lion.

"Alright," laughed the mouse.

The lion also laughed.

After Reading
What happened in the story? Can someone share in their own
words?
