Face Shovel Buckets
Face Shovel Bucket Anatomy
Face Shovel Buckets are a combination of the Front Clam and Backwall piece. The bucket’s capacity is
determined by the size and type of Front Clam is selected. Face Shovels can be classified into 2 categories:
6015-6030 and 6040-6090. These bucket types have minor differences in how they’re constructed and lip
structure. Front Clam to Backwall specaifications and matching can be found on pages 7 and 8.

GET and Wear Component Options
Bucket Component Wear
Characteristics and Wear Priority of GET
Regularly scheduled inspections and replacement of worn bucket components are essential to maintain high
productivity.
Tips, Top Wear Caps, Adapters, and BEEPS
The highest wear areas of the buckets are typically the
GET tips and adapter top wear caps. Installation of
top wear caps will prolong the life of the adapter. In
more abrasive materials, welds that hold the adapter
to the bucket cutting edge can wear extensively over
time. The use of a BEEP is recommended to protect
these welds on the outer most adapter, as well as the
end of the cutting edge. Adapters have an approximate
life of 6,000-8,000 hours, but should be monitored
closely as wear can vary with different applications
and operational conditions.

Lip Shrouds and Wing Shrouds

Lip shrouds and wing shrouds are secondary wear
areas.

They should be replaced after 3-5 tip replacements.

Heel Shrouds
Heel shroud wear rates can be moderate to high wear
and varies depending on operator technique.

Lower heel shrouds will wear faster than the upper

heel shrouds due to their proximity to the lip.
