ABOUT THE SPORTS AND SOCIO-

CULTURAL AFFAIRS OFFICE

The USeP Tagum – Sports and Socio-Cultural Affairs Office through the

Office of Student Affairs and Services is the sole venue for the USeP Tagum

students, faculty, and non-teaching personnel to be engaged in various forms of

sports and socio-cultural activities in internal and external events. The office that

leads and organizes the biggest event on the Tagum campus which is the annual

intramurals and the source of non-academic activities for students in the university.

It is a center to cater to holistic student interests and skills development.

Furthermore, it aims to strengthen social and community involvement through

transformative student governance and collaborative networks and linkages.

RATIONALE OF THE EVENT

As the University endeavors to enhance the individual and collective health

and wellness of the student community, it is imperative that as an academic
community, USeP Tagum-Mabini Campus shall promote essential mechanisms
promoting physical fitness, mental health, and camaraderie among the campus
community. With this in mind, the University of Southeastern Philippines Tagum-
Mabini Campus Sports and Cultural Affairs Office, in partnership with the Tagum
Student Council, Mabini Student Council, Gender and Development Office, and
Local Councils decided to organize the 2023 Intramurals with the theme "INDIGAY
2023: Fostering the USePian Spirit of Inclusivity through Athletic Excellence
and Cultural Diversity."

The word INDIGAY is a Visayan word, which means competition among a

group of culturally diverse students from different programs of the University
through creating a healthy and sound competition that welcomes everyone,
regardless of their background, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

INDIGAY 2023 aims to foster the value of Collaboration, Accountability,

Resiliency, Excellence, and Service Oriented among USePians, as they compete
in various athletic events and showcase their skills and talents. It aims to further
provide a platform for the students to express their creativity and cultural pride, by
incorporating traditional elements in the event, such as music, dance, and art.

This event comprises different competitions in the field of E-Sports, Sports,

Academics, and Cultural Arts participated by the graduate and undergraduate
students of USeP Tagum-Mabini Campus. INDIGAY 2023: Fostering the USePian
Spirit of Inclusivity through Athletic Excellence and Cultural Diversity" is a
testament to our commitment to promoting physical fitness, mental health, cultural
diversity, and inclusivity among our campus community.
