1.0 Objective
The purpose of this method statement is to describe the procedure of repair for concrete
damages and cracks. The objective is to ensure the safe and efficient rectification work of the
structure while minimizing risks to personnel, property, and the environment.
The scope covers the key activities involved in the rectification process are:
a) Debris clearance
b) Rectification Works
a) Cleaning tools
b) Epoxy system (Sikadur-52)
c) Safety equipment (e.g., gloves, goggles, face masks, etc.)

5.0 Procedure
a) Clean out surfaces, using small wire brushes or compressed air to remove all
loose and friable materials, as well as mud and other impurities.
b) Concrete surfaces must be clean, free from standing water and all loosely
adhering particles.
c) The cracks and adjacent substrate must be clean, sound and free of frost.
Remove dust, laitance, grease, curing compounds, waxes, impregnations,
foreign particles, efflorescence and other bond inhibiting materials from the
surface by mechanical.
d) Mixing the epoxy resin adhesive for sealing the cracks.
e) Apply epoxy to the crack surface
a) All personnel Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Ensure that all personnel
involved in the demolition works wear appropriate PPE, including hard hats,
safety glasses, high-visibility clothing, gloves, and safety footwear.
b) Impervious gloves and barrier cream should be used when handling these
products. Eye protection should be worn. In case of contact with eyes, rinse
with plenty of water and seek medical advice if symptoms persist. If contact
with skin occurs, it must be removed before curing takes place. Wash off with
an industrial skin cleanser followed by plenty of soap and water. Do not use
solvent. Ensure adequate ventilation when using these products.
