AVA Festival & Conference is currently looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated design
support voluntary placement student with a passion for music, festivals, arts, design and
excellent attention to detail, to join their team.
Based in Belfast, the position will be a part-time, unpaid placement. The role offers an
excellent opportunity for individuals in University or College, who are passionate and
committed to pursuing a career in the music & festival sector. The successful applicant will
work across a series of projects, from the week beginning the Monday 4th February until the
end of June 2019.
The role will require hands-on design skills across print and digital media and should be able
to work quickly and have a strong self-initiative to help with creative tasks within a busy
working environment. The role will require working in the office, responding to design briefs,
creating artwork for social media but also working on-site during events.
Design Skills:
● Understand graphic file-formats and able to manage content libraries for Cloud-based
organisation
● Understanding of Creative Cloud within MacOS system
● Proficient in Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
● Demonstrate strong typography and layout skills
● Follow brand guidelines and using templates to create artwork
● Experience creating social media graphics, GIFs, banners
● Basic knowledge of preparing artwork for print (digital + litho)
Personal Specification:
● Prepared to work under pressure under tight deadlines
● Hardworking, flexible work ethic and enthusiastic to learn new skills
● Willingness to work under own-initiative
● Organisational skills and attention to detail (strong proof-reading skills highly
desirable)
● Interest within electronic music, visual arts and culture
