User Agreement
The following User Agreement (the “Agreement”) applies to your participation in the Applied Data Science Lab (the
“Lab”)
at WorldQuant University (the “University”). Your acceptance of this Agreement is a mandatory prerequisite to your
coursework. It is valid for the entire duration of your enrollment in the Lab and expires upon successful completion
of
the Lab, withdrawal from the Lab, and/or once the maximum time frame of twelve (12) months permitted to
complete the Lab has
expired, whichever is the latest. By signing this Agreement, you hereby acknowledge and agree to the following:

Acknowledgements

1. I hereby acknowledge that I have read and understood the University’s Terms of Use, which are incorporated
by reference into this Agreement.
2. I hereby acknowledge that I have read and understood the University’s Privacy Policy, which is incorporated
by reference into this Agreement.
3. I understand that my admission to the Lab is valid for three (3) months and that I am responsible for
determining my
official start date by clicking on the “Start” button on my course overview page.
4. I understand that the Lab was designed to be completed in 16 weeks and that the maximum time frame
permitted to complete Lab is within 12 months of my official start date.
5. By enrolling I am pledging my time and commitment to successfully completing the Lab. I understand that I
will need
to dedicate at least 10-12 hours per week toward each Lab project. Additionally, I understand that I will
need
 reliable internet service to be successful and that a laptop or desktop computer will be required to complete
course
activities.
6. I understand that plagiarism, cheating, fabrication, engaging in or facilitating academic dishonesty,
republishing or
redistributing any course materials including but not limited to assignments, course notes, and lecture videos,
my
own coursework or another student's work, and uploading these materials to other websites are strictly
prohibited. I
understand that the University may suspend or terminate my account and prevent access to the Lab if it
suspects any
of the foregoing, and I will be responsible for any damages that are incurred in connection with the foregoing.
I
further understand that unless explicitly noted, all course materials are the property of WorldQuant University.
7. I understand that I will own the rights to all work I create for the purpose of completing the Lab (“Student
Work”).
I hereby grant to the University a non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, worldwide right and license to use
all
Student Work for any purpose whatsoever, including but not limited to, commercial exploitation, and the
preparation
and exploitation of derivative works therefrom.
8. In the event I wish to publish any of my Student Work, I hereby agree I will seek consent from the University
prior
to the publication and to disclose that the work was originally created as part of the Lab coursework.
9. I understand that as a student of WorldQuant University (WQU), I am prohibited from being employed and
pursuing candidacy at WorldQuant, LLC and/or its affiliates for a period of 12 months following the earlier to
occur of (x) my last day as an enrolled student at WQU and (y) my graduation date from WQU. I further
understand this rule applies to all accepted applicants who enroll and begin their studies at WQU, whether
they earn a degree or exit prior to completion.
