Sensory Stimuli

These are the things we hear, small, taste and touch that help us to understand and
experience the world around us.

Sensory: Our eyes help us see and understand things. They can perceive different
colours, shapes and how far away objects are. When light hits the Conia, it’s sent to
the pupil, to the lens, to the retina, to nerve signal – optic nerve and finally to the
brain for processing.

Hearing: Our ears allow us to hear sounds. We can recognize different pitches (high
or low sounds), loudness, and the quality of sounds.

Smell: Our nose helps us detect different smells and odors. We can recognize and
distinguish scents like flowers, food, or other things.

Taste: Our taste buds on the tongue allow us to perceive different tastes like
sweetness, sourness, saltiness, bitterness, and savory flavors.

Touch: Our skin and other body parts can feel different sensations such as pressure,
temperature (hot or cold), and pain. This helps us interact with objects and feel
textures.
