Dear Parents and Guardians,

What a fantastic start to Term 3 with our Christmas in July celebration! I couldn't be
prouder of our little ones for their bravery on the stage. The support from so many
families cheering us on made it even more special. The energy in the classrooms afterward
was incredible, and I want to express my gratitude for your support during this event.

Our Group 5 learners are embarking on their phonics journey, which marks the beginning of
their path to becoming proficient readers and spellers.

The Phonological Awareness Preschool Program targets a wide range of basic phonological
awareness skills including:
 Awareness and production of rhyme.
 Identification of words, syllables and sounds in various contexts.
 Awareness of the position of sounds in words.
 Combining words into sentences and sounds into words (blending).
 Dividing words into syllables, word parts and sounds (segmentation).

It's important to emphasize that we are not simply teaching the children
their ABC's, but rather laying the foundations for this fundamental learning
