Lightweight to midweight woven fabric like rayon twill, challis, crepe,
tencel, linen.

PRINTING AND ASSEMBLING

This pattern is available in A4, Letter and A0.

PRINTING:

Download and save your pattern.


Open using a PDF reader.
Before printing make sure your size option is set to “actual size”.
This way you’ll print the pattern with its accurate measurements.

To check if the pattern is being printed to scale print just the first
page and measure the Test Square. If the sizes correspond you’re
good to go.

The Skirt pattern piece on this pattern is a rectangle so if you’d like


to skip printing those pages print as such.

A4, Letter - print pages 1-14;


A0 - print page 1.

You can find a table with the measurements you need to cut for the
skirt pattern pieces on the printed pattern.

INSTRUCTIONS - VIEW A

The seam allowance on this pattern is 1 cm/3/8” and it’s already included in the pattern pieces.

 

Interface the Side/Back Lining, Center Lining and Lower Shell patterm pieces.

1 Fold the adjustable straps and adjustable strap loops lenghtwise and sew. Cut the excess
fabric in the seam allowance and turn them inside out.

2 Thread the strap through the slider and then thread the ring (1).
Grab the edge of the strap that is closest to the ring and thread the strap throught the back of the
the slider (2).
Leave an excess of 3 cm and sew the end of the strap using a straight stitch (3).
Feed the adjustable strap loop throught the ring and secure it with a pin (4).

3 Sew two lines of basting stitches on each edge of the gathered strip pattern piece and
gather.

4 Pin the gathered strip to the upper edge of the lower shell pattern piece right sides facing
while matching the notches. Make sure the gathers are evenly distributed. Sew and then
remove the gathering stitches.

5 Press the seam allowance towards the bottom.

6 Pin the center lining pattern piece to the side/back pattern piece right sides facing and sew.
Pin the remaining side back piece to the other side of the center lining piece right sides facing
and sew.

7 Pin the adjustable straps to the lining piece matching the notches. Make sure that the straps
aren’t twisted.

8 Pin the shell to the lining and gather the gathered strip the same way you did in step 4.
Sew using a straight stitch. Remove the gathering stitches.

9 Press the seam towards the lining and understitch.

10 Finish the raw edges of the skirt pieces and pocket pieces using either an overlocking
stitch or a zig zag stitch.

11 Pin the pockets to the skirt pattern pieces right sides
facing while matching the notches. Sew using 0.5 cm
seam allowance.

12 Press the pocket towards the outside and topstitch.

13 Pin the front skirt piece to the back skirt pieces right sides facing and sew the side seams.
Start at the top, once you reach the pocket pivot and sew around the pocket. Then, once you
reach the end of the pocket pivot again and sew the rest of the side seam.

14 Sew two lines of basting stitches on the top
edge of the skirt.

15 Pin the gathered skirt to the


shell of the bodice right sides facing.
Make sure the notches match and
the gathers are even. Sew and then
remove all of the gathering stitches.

16 Press the seam you’ve sewn to attach the skirt to the bodice towards the top.

17 With the right side facing down place the
right side of the zipper tape over the edge of the
left side edge of the dress. The beginning of the
zipper teeth should align with the fold between
the shell and lining of the bodice.
Sew as close to the zipper teeth as you can.

18 Press the fabric to reveal the edge of


the zipper.

19 As you did before, with the right side


facing down place the left side of the zipper
tape over the edge of the right side edge of
the dress. The beginning of the zipper teeth
should align with the fold between the shell
and lining of the bodice.
Sew as close to the zipper teeth as you can.

22 Press the back seam open.
To create the back slit, topstitch starting at the
bottom, stop at the notch, pivot, sew until you
reach the other side, pivot and then continue
topstitching from the notch until the bottom.

23 Remove the basting stitch.

24 To hem the skirt fold the edge 1 cm towards the wrong side of the fabric and then 3 cm in the
same direction. And sew.
