1. What is meant by the word, ‘Veda’ and where it is derived?


The word ‘Veda’ means ‘knowledge’ and is derived from the Sanskrit root ‘vid’, means ‘to know’.

2. Write the names of four Vedas and its descriptions.


Rig-Veda  - The Book of Mantra
Sama-Veda - The Book of Song
Yajur-Veda - The Book of Ritual
Atharva-Veda - The Book of Spell

3. What are Vedangas? Mention its types.


Vedangas literally mean the limbs of the Vedas.
They are six in number. Just like the limbs of the body.

4. Analyze the three life forces with their significances.


There are three life forces or energies called doshas.
a. Vata dosha (space and air) - It controls very basic body functions.
b. Pitta dosha (fire and water) - Pitta expresses as the body’s metabolic system
c. Kapha dosha (water and earth) - The Energy of Lubrication.

5. What are Vedas? Write their elements.


The Vedas are a collection of hymns and other ancient religious texts written in India between
about 1500 and 1000 BCE.
Elements: Poems, prayers and formulas.

6. Write the benefits of saying Namaste through our hands.


 Joining our hands ensures the joining the tips of our fingers together which denoted to
the pressure points of eyes, ears and mind.
 It activates the pressure points which helps us to remember that person for a long time.

7. Where temples are located? Write their importances.


Temples are located strategically at a place where the positive energy is abundantly
available from the magnetic and electric wave distributions of north and south pole thrust.
So whenever we go to temple we will get positive energy.

8. What is the reason behind laying marbles in temples?


When you touch the marble, heat transfer from your body to the marbles quickly. It is
very good for our eyes and gives peaceful mind.
