 Foreword by Jan Scholten
Ulrich Welte has written a wonderful book the ‘Uranium series’.
He describes the elements and salts of the Uranium series in their
remedy pictures and illustrates them with many cases. The result
gives a very good insight into those remedies.
Important is that many essences and symptoms from the past have
been confirmed. The essence as described in the Element theory are
very prominent in the cases. And the remedy pictures that Patricia
Le Roux has given are strongly present in all cases.
A central concept is fragmentation. The fragmentation can be in all
circumstances. It can be in the form of natural disasters and violence
like earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, meteorite impact,
lightning. It is symbolic that Thor, after which Thorium is named,
is the God of thunder and lightning. The fragmentation can be in
the form of family disruptions, death, accidents, separation, divorce,
family disease like cancer and psychosis. The fragmentation can
also come from their own diseases, genetic diseases, cancer, severe
diseases.
In all forms one can see something extreme. Everything is extreme,
in the circumstances, and inter personalities also. Cancer is extreme
for children, genetic diseases is extreme. And the capacity to handle
it is extreme. So the patient have extreme qualities, like physical
power and energy, mental power, precocity, wisdom, intuition, clair-
voyance. So, many aspects in the case as such are not special, like
cancer, but that they are present in children make them extreme.
The treatments for those diseases like radiation are also extreme.
And they come from the radioactive elements of the Uranium se-
ries. That is probably the reason that the majority of the cases are
of children. For them it is extreme to be confronted with death and
destruction, at the beginning of life.

The elements of the Uranium series have too much energy and mat-
ter cannot contain that amount of energy, so it can only fall apart.
One can say that everything is unusual usual. Or that everything
is usual unusual.
I recommend this book to all homeopaths. It shows the essence of
the remedies which gives an understanding of them. And Ulrich
Welte describes the simple facts and symptoms and how they origi-
nate from the essence. It makes the application of those remedies
easy and practical. I hope he will write books about the other series
as well. Thanks for a great book.

The first periodic table of 1869 was a simple attempt to classify
chemically similar elements although it later turned out to represent
a universal truth. At that time there was no knowledge of atomic
numbers, protons and electrons but the chemical properties and
atomic weights of the elements were well-known. Dmitri Mendeleev
drew up the first periodic table, ordered in groups and rows. This
configuration came to him in a prophetic daydream.
Mendeleev was a Russian chemist who had long strived to find a
sensible system for the 63 elements known at that time. The chem-
ist knew, for example, that the alkaline metals such as lithium, po-
tassium and sodium behave in a similar way – but how could the
elements be arranged to also take account of their physical char-
acteristics? He racked his brains to find a meaningful pattern but
without success. He could not rest until he had solved the problem.
He was just about to embark on a journey – his bags were packed
and the coachman was waiting with the horse sleigh to take him
to the railway station. Yet he was sunk in thought about his ele-
ments. He briefly fell into an inspiring daydream in which playing
cards kept flipping on top of his packed suitcase before falling into
place in sequence.1 A pile of aces next to a pile of kings, and each
group ordered by suit – clubs on the bottom then spades, hearts
and diamonds. The piles got bigger. He immediately sensed that he
was close to a solution. He sent the coachman away and continued

brooding though he was still unable to perceive how to apply his

card dream to the problem of the elements. Finally he fell asleep in
a state of exhaustion, at which point he had his epiphany, to order
the elements according to atomic weight: “I saw in a dream a table
where all elements fell into place as required. Awakening, I imme-
diately wrote it down on a piece of paper – only in one place did a
correction later seem necessary.”

Mendeleev’s first periodic table of 1869

The groups or columns of the periodic table therefore correspond

to the heaps of cards from the first daydream, and the horizontal
sequence can be derived from the increasing atomic weight of the
elements ordered within the rows, as shown in the prophetic sec-
ond dream. These rows were termed periods, from which the name
of the system is derived. There was only one disadvantage: due to
the limited number of elements known at the time, it only made
sense if one left a number of empty slots. Yet Mendeleev was so
convinced of the correctness of the truth that had been revealed to
him that he interpreted the empty slots as missing elements – he
presupposed that these elements must exist but they had just not
yet been discovered. He was soon shown to be right. The missing
elements were indeed discovered, one after the other, and they all

had precisely the predicted characteristics. This had nothing to do

with crystal gazing but rather confirmed the paramount value of a
good natural system and the resultant coherent theory. So his basic
periodic table was expanded further and proved its worth not just
chemically but also later as the basis of atomic physics. Finally it
was possible to confirm the system mathematically: the Schrödinger
equation enabled it to be derived from quantum theory.
So dreams are not always mere shadows.

culed – similar to Barium, stage 2 of the Gold series, although the

reason for her fear of being ridiculed was her paranormal abilities,
originating in the Uranium series.
Patricia Le Roux in “Radioactive Substances in Homeopathy” de-
scribes a very impressive case of Radium bromatum, which confirms
the properties of the Uranium series, stage 2, and Bromium. Resie
Moonen published three cases of Radium bromatum on the Inter-
homeopathy website showing the relatively high specificity of the
remedy for lichen sclerosus and morphea, a circumscribed, atrophy-
ing form of scleroderma.

Radium bromatum and Myositis

Myositis may be another indication for Radium bromatum
and a very recent case is given here for further confirmation.
A 60 year old man, unobtrusive and a bit shy, a very hard worker and
exceptionally gifted and very ingenious mechanic and inventor, suffered
from severe muscle pains in the thighs for more than 3 years. High CK
values up to 1200 U/l suggested a form of myositis which could not
be clarified by even the most advanced diagnostics. Several medicines
including steroids did not help sufficiently and the pain made him unfit
for work and nearly an invalid. Then an unorthodox thought pointed
to a possible solution: as myositis can be induced by statins and the
prototype atorvastatin is a product of the mould fungus Monascus
purpureus, and fungi are very similar to Actinides, maybe the Actinides
could provide a cure for myositis? After all it is a destructive process
too. With this thought in mind I was on my way to the practice when
my colleague asked me out of the blue whether I had already tried an

Actinide with this patient. Hmm, strange. Then I met our neighbour
suffering from cancer who was to be examined by PET scan, and he
wanted to know about this radioactive substance they inject, radium
or something like that. Hmm, hmm, strange indeed. When I saw the
patient, heeding these omens, I just gave Radium bromatum 200C,
then prescribed LM 6 daily. With this remedy he made such a speedy
recovery that I would like to mention the case even though it is only
6 months ago. The man can now work fully without any pain, and his
CK values have been steadily improving ever since.

Radium bromatum
Juvenile idiopathic arthritis after scarlet fever; severe
psychological and physical terror by a psychotic nanny; passivity
with loss of initiative
A case by Patricia Le Roux. Following scarlet fever, a 12-year-old girl
is now suffering from juvenile idiopathic arthritis ( JIA), which has
been progressively worsening for the last two years despite steroid
treatment. She also has rheumatic endocarditis and pericarditis.
She is sporty and her father is also a good sportsman but now she can
hardly move any more and so sport is virtually impossible: she feels at
rock bottom (Uranium series). In complete contrast to before, she is
depressed since the illness and she looks prematurely old (Uranium
series) with a wrinkled face. All she wants to do is lie around all day
watching TV. She prefers to be alone because she feels rejected. It
is as if her entire young life has been destroyed. Her mother is a hy-
peractive artist living in her own world. Her father is rarely at home.
As a young child she suffered serious trauma (Uranium series) due
to a psychotic (Bromium) nanny who secretly mistreated and hit
her. The girl’s school first discovered the haematomas caused by the
blows and informed the parents. The child was tormented (Ura-
nium series, Brom) for a total of six months. At school she is too
yielding and has no self-confidence. She thinks she cannot keep up

Uranium series: Extreme situations. Destruction, death. Cruel fate,
severely adverse sequence of events. Genetic disease, inherited bur-
dens. Cut to the quick, to the bone. Leukaemia. Disruption in nor-
mal sequence of events: too quick = precocity, premature old age;
too slow = old burdens hamper healing, simple diseases take long
to heal. Decay releases large amount of energy. Phoenix rising from
the ashes. Radioactive decay. Chain reaction. Supernatural. Sixth
sense. Natural disasters. Fragile; splintering; ruined.

Uranium, stage 6 of the Actinides: confront an overwhelming

fate and overcome it; prove with superhuman power that such a
thing is possible.
See a severe illness as a challenge, face up to it and defy it.
Prove that a genetic illness does not have to be an overwhelming

Armour themselves internally against severe blows of fate, with-

draw inside themselves and train hard.
Feel compelled to counteract the collapse of their world otherwise
they would disgrace themselves.
Regard supernatural phenomena as an inevitable challenge and
act in a daring way.
Have to very early on confront a world that has gone off the
rails.

Signature: Pure uranium is extracted from uranium ores such as

pitchblende (uraninite, a mixture of various uranium oxides). When
discovered as an oxide it was named uraninite, later renamed to
uranium.
The earth mother brought forth the first man without a husband: Ura-
nium takes its name from the giant planet Uranus, which was discov-
ered just before. Uranus is in turn named after the Greek god of the
sky, Uranos, which is one of the primal Greek gods, the first-born of
Gaia (earth). She bore him in her sleep without male involvement.
He was then the first male in the world.
Ancient uranium still radiates warmth: About half of the warmth of
the earth, which radiates from our nuclear oven in the centre of the
earth, comes from the radioactive decay of natural uranium-238
and thorium-232.
Armoured destroyer of armour: Uranium is used for armour, with
a layer of uranium sandwiched between two layers of reinforced
steel. On the other hand uranium ammunition is also used as an
armour-piercing weapon. A uranium projectile fired with an espe-
cially high-powered hollow charge deforms on impact such that a
tip is maintained so it can continue penetrating the armour. Ura-
nium ammunition is therefore called “self-sharpening”. In addition

this type of projectile partially pulverises on impact, producing hot

uranium dust that spontaneously ignites inside the target, setting
fire to ammunition or fuel and so causing a secondary explosion in
the tank or bunker that is being attacked. “Armour” is an important
term for stage 6.
Up to here but no further: Uranium constitutes a break in the periodic
table. It is the last element in the periodic table that naturally occurs
in large amounts. Therefore in the past all elements with a higher
atomic number, which can only be produced in large amounts by
artificial means, were termed “transuranium elements”.

Uranium ore: pitchblende, uraninite

Releases a massive amount of energy that either destroys everything or

helps: Due to its potential property of triggering a chain reaction
when the atom is split (fission), the fissionable uranium isotope 235U
was the main element used in nuclear power stations and the atom
bomb until it was replaced by the competitor plutonium, which is
generated artificially by additional steps.
Danger from the depths: Uranium is contained in silicate-rich stone
such as granite, so it therefore occurs above all in the continental
earth crust. Uranium mining causes uranium plus radioactive decay
products such as radon to be brought up from below the ground
to the surface.
Clinical: Uranium seems to be especially suited for the treatment
of leukaemia and the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation.
Sujit Chatterjee successfully treats 90 % of his cancer patients with
Uranium nitricum 30C for the side effects of chemotherapy.
Agranulocytosis. Pernicious anaemia. Genetic disease: thalassae-
mia; kryptopyrroluria. Osteoporosis with end-plate breaks in the
vertebrae. Diabetes with nephrotic syndrome. Enuresis. Styes in
left upper eyelid.

2. Extremely severe osteoporosis

The patient is a middle-aged woman with very severe osteoporosis
with end-plate breaks in the vertebral column and sintering of the
vertebrae in the lumbar spine, resulting in almost complete im-
mobility. With homeopathic treatment her condition improved so
much that for more than ten years she has been able to once again
move freely without any further fractures.
Since her youth she has been someone who likes to pull the strings
in the background. She tends towards bigotry and all around she
sees the supernatural powers that determine fate, even if there are
perfectly obvious mundane reasons for what she sees: everything
must be God’s will. Before treatment with Uranium nitricum 12C in
daily doses she was so depressed that she just wanted to hibernate
until things improved. This feeling cleared up within the first few
weeks of taking the remedy.

3. Agranulocytosis
A delicate woman of around forty interested in the esoteric has
had inexplicable bouts of fever for the last year: despite intensive
diagnostic efforts they cannot be classified. When her health dete-
riorated further and she also began to suffer from agranulocytosis,
we considered Uranium nitricum LM6, which helped her greatly
after two weeks. She has been complaint-free for almost one year
now, without any episodes of fever and her blood test results have
continually improved. A strange symptom also disappeared with
treatment: she had the feeling that she could hardly get any air, as
if she were breathing through a really narrow opening, as if through
a straw.

3. Thalassaemia minor
In a boy with hereditary thalassaemia, the associated blood test
results for HbF and HbA2 returned to normal with a few doses of
Uranium nitricum 200C. He was precocious and used to sometimes
behave like an adult: at the age of six he would give speeches like a
